    O2/NOx Sensor Socket - amzn.to/2W3hqNP
    Socket Set - amzn.to/2F9p17V
    In this video I'll be taking a look at and replacing a "Particulate Matter" or "Soot Sensor" in a Volvo VNL Truck with a D13 Engine.

    If i were to change the PM sensor myself and if i clear the codes with OTR Performance Reset tool, would it be the same as updating the ECM, or do i have to go to the dealer just because they have the appropriate software for updating my ECM?

    Does the soot sensor and nox sensor use the same size socket to remove?

    Hello. I have an error P2003 diesel particulate filter Below efficiency on my Tucson 2015. Do you think this error p2003 is related to this PM sensor? My DPF is in good condition, 18mbar pressure test after washing. Thank you!

    So far haven’t had any trouble with Volvo yet but have with Detroit. Have you seen where the ghg17 dpfs are failing due to cracked from over heating and if so have you found a fix?

    • @TheDieseler
      @TheDieseler  6 лет назад

      fuseone I haven't seen many GHG17s fail like that but I haven't had my hands on a whole lot of them yet. The previous ones that overheated were usually caused by something upstream. Failing injectors, a leaking HC Doser, EGR Cooler etc. Often from getting overloaded with soot due to an upstream problem or just a very poor duty cycle.

    So what is the difference between DPF soot sensor and SCR sensor right next to it? Thanks.

    • @TheDieseler
      @TheDieseler  5 лет назад

      The Soot sensor measures the amount of Particulate matter that is making its way past the DPF filter. The sensor that's typically mounted next to it is the Outlet NOx sensor. It measures the amount of NOx exiting the exhaust after the SCR Catalyst.

    Can I call particulate matter as a soot?

  • @AndreyBanyuk
    @AndreyBanyuk 6 лет назад +1

    Can't you just leave the new sensor reader out of the outlet SCR to get perfect readings? Leaving the old sensor screwed into the exaust hole. Instead of replacing a bad SCR.

    Have a nonstop soot level sign full (at 2/3 )even after regen , went to the only volvo dealer in pheonix ar (vanguard) to get it .. the idiots couldn t fined or figure out the updated one .they faked they looking in the shop and told me they don't have it , after I asked to give me the part nr , they relised they got cought lying since they need the part nr to look for the part itself ... so they told me either my truck don t have it 😆, or their syst em is messed up... they dodnt even want to update my software when asked to (to see maybe is just a ghost code , had that before)..literally telling me he s not gonna do it can the codes will be erased (they ll come back if still activ) , but they won't fix it either. Can t stand lazy shops that puts the driver in messed up situation just because is better just to change a bulb

    What's the point of soot sensors when there is literally no safe level of soot?
    I mean, are the regulators delusional or... ?
