Patriots literally got better and Mazz said they did nothing. Its hilarious how they can spin anything into it being horrible. They signed the veteran QB, a solid running back with starting experience, and a good linebacker. They clearly are not done either. Not sure what people are expecting when everyone has money now with the salary cap being increased for everyone.

Phil is right. How does spending on FA’s preclude you from drafting and developing? no one is saying to lock up FAs on bad long term deals but you can afford to overpay in the short. It’s a sugar high and you still need to draft well, but as evident in the re-signings, the FA’s brought in were not a total waste. Tom so adamant about saving the Kraft’s money one has to think what’s his motivation?

If they do identify THE GUY however they don't think he'll be there at 3, then they HAVE to go get him at all costs. If they're not willing to do that, then it's not THE GUY. If that's the case either stick and pick best available which is clearly MHJ, or trade down to get more picks and potentially get a LT or a true WR 1. Pats already have JuJu Smith Schuster, Pop Douglas, Kendrick Bourne to play slot. This is a once in a lifetime deep and talented WR draft which the Pats could target an idea x-receiver with size and explosiveness.
