The first boss scared me when I was a kid, along with that music, also the Gnawties running on that giant hamster wheel in world 2 and going after you.
IDK but I rememer these bosses alto harder they actually were. I still surprised about how fast I defeat them now as an adult, they weren't too creative except for the final boss. I think DKC2 was the Peak about the trilogy bosses, and DKC3 really kept the things good. But DKC it's weak in bosses by comparison, even for being the first entry.
Man this song used to scare me back when I was kid, it was really tense. Specially the first time reaching to a new boss. Good stuff.

to be honest, the bosses in this game were pretty easy. Especially King K Rool, but he can be a little hard sometimes.
Those orchestral hits at 0:54 are completely wrong. Like, spectacularly wrong. As in I'm surprised this wasn't caught before the video was uploaded.
Bosses really weren't his game's strong suit.
A lot of people give DKC1 a lot of shit for the bosses, but you know what?
