Faux Wood - Generic Dark Wood with Glazing - Scenic Art

  • There are infinite ways to make faux wood, and in this video I show how to use several layers of different color glazes to create a more colorful and rich dark wood than you can get with a single layer. This process was worked out by Ryan Miller at the Santa Fe Opera 2021.

    I have several 10 foot cabinets (primed mdf) to grain like this, to look like one panel (not masked boards) - what method would work best for the lines to avoid stop-start strokes? Maybe the roller?

    This is beautiful and exactly what finish I want….. 𝒃𝒖𝒕, man that is A LOT of products & steps= time
