@@michaelterrell5061 I was a teenage student (13 thru 17 years old) at the time I attended classes at Jhoon Rhee Annandale studio, where Jeff instructed off and on during his fighting years. He was there more in the early times, but he was no stranger to us dropping in. In answer to your question, I cannot answer for Jeff if your question regards his boxing professionally, as I do not know. But as the videos show, he knew how to box. But, did he teach and instruct us on boxing techniques in class - absolutely! Stance and dance, blocking, deflecting and counter, proper punch and striking techniques, timing, and of course learning how to take a hit! I loved my years in Tae Kwon Do and could be found in the studio 3-5 classes a week, as my schedule allowed. Really cool to look back and see what teenagers take for granted - hey, I had a kickass instructor! For real!
I could already see the western boxing influence in their taekwondo karate style it has not changed very much in traditional martial arts when they want better hands punches they incorporate western boxing that was not muy Thai not even close it was cool to see that element.
Grew up watching Batman train at JRI Duke St. - the memories that this video brings back. Never liked Smith. But, he is definitely a legend.
