    Great explanation, in about 5 mins, too! What do you use for the animation? It looks great!

    Best explanation I've heard seen thus far. One stop shop for all stages of DevOps, may not do one thing the "best" but it does everything which is probably best suited for smaller companies.

      @@mayureshjadhav8320I’m not sure. My comment was just a summary of the video. I’m sure there are third party tools that specialize in different things that could do one aspect of Gitlab better than Gitlab.

    Nice intro...probably one of the best i have seen.👍 I could be wrong though, but my understanding is that Github also provides all the sw dev tools under one platform, but that Gitlab appears to be better with the CI/CD tooling.

      Yes, correct. I am working on a Github video this week. Ultimately Gitlab came out with the idea of everything is here. Github is now playing catch up and making it interesting.

    Why is upload folder not available in gitlab ?

    Its all about enabling developers: 3:18 "...and developers pull local copies of that code onto their laptops and develop new features or bugs :) "

    Still do not know what Gitlab is. I am a lone developer.

      TLDR; Gitlab is just a area to place your code. You got us, so you are no longer a lone dev :-)

    Gitlab requires your phone number (with zero details given w/respect to how they disclose that data) to even get read access to codebases. Big Nope.

    • @PeopleInTech_

      What did Github ask for?

    • @matej.m.rejsek8537
      @matej.m.rejsek8537 4 месяца назад

      @@PeopleInTech_ Github asks for an email address, asks you to solve a puzzle, then asks you to verify your email via a code sent to that address. *Done*.
      Gitlab initially requires just your email address - then after they get that address verified, they next require a phone number or credit card number w/no disclosure details. I honestly have no idea if, after you give them your phone number, they require even more information. They should disclose all the information needed for an account *up front*, rather than the current Kabuki.

    Uh you're testing your code after wriing it, so you don't use TDD that's bad
