International Armys we must support Suga! He had drunk alcohol, rode an electric scooter to his home nearby but fell when he parked in front of his house when a police saw him (someone must have called the police when he left the place he was at). However, Suga is human like everyone else and made a mistake. The guy got his punishment! He paid fine, got his license revoked and he officially apologized as well as his agency! But now he is in every Korean media outlet and is being crucified on Korean social media by K-netizens and K-Armys! They say he is a disappointment, his reputation is forever destroyed, his career is over, that he can never come back, that he must leave the group, that it’s attempted murder, that he is a criminal and must go to jail, that he must disappear from TV and it’s goodbye to BTS! Korea put so much pressure on idols to be perfect all the time. Korean netizens have a long history of bullying and harrass idols to the extent that they committed suicide. Will they be happy and satisfied if Suga did that too? Koreans are so unforgiving and judgemental, but no one is perfect. It’s a very toxic and superficial society with high suicide rate. The majority of Armys are millions of International Armys who are more open minded. For us this is crazy because it’s not that big of a deal. International celebrities make mistakes all the time and would be saints for apologizing, but they’re human and fans still love their work as artists. No one cares. In Korea an apology won’t ever be enough. Seriously, Suga made a mistake and apologized, now let it be and move on! We will always love and support him and BTS. He should move overseas to be a free person and continue his career with BTS.
You couldn't find better words. He made a serious mistake, no doubt, but Korean society is so hypocritical and judgemental and those news sites are just looking for views lynching him. Im really worried for his mental health in this moment, I can only imagine what he's going through...

I don't know how to break it to you bro but Suga is Korean, his family is Korean and most of his closest friends are Koreans. South Korea is his home country. The opinion of other Koreans are a lot more important to him than the opinion of random people living in some country he only visited for work.
He's a danger to society if he's driving any vehicle while drunk. He deserves serious punishment for this just like any other person who drives while drunk. It's not just his safety he puts at risk, he puts everyone else safety at risk too. And the fact that this time he was caught should question how many times he has done this in the past without getting caught. A grown man deliberately driving while drunk should always be taken seriously and be seriously punished. It dont matter that he sings and dances on stage. It dont matter that he is rich. He is still a korean citizen and must be punished for putting society in serious risk.
So, Why are the police are in front of his house by his parking lot? And how the police know it was Suga driving? Isn’t it that’s where they supposed to pull him over on the street. Instead they are in his front house. So basically they didn’t caught him driving. They caught him where he already parked his e-scooter in front of his house
The cctv is questionable and not a proof. What matters is when the police noticed he was inebriated. He was afoot. By the way he was not driving but riding a smaller type of vehicle.

@@silviabertozzi7996 He will be definitely be punished by law. However, what people are paying more attention to is that Suga himself and his agency tried to defend his actions were innocent, which was found to be false based on cctv evidence. Riding a scooter being drunk while working in public service (instead of military) is a behavior that would be criticized.
someone said even if you drunk only a glass of alcohol, don't drive in korea, you will get punished. if your a celebrity they will always watch you, to find something that pulls you down, soo idols should be perfect, no mistake, and obey all the wishes of everybody. suga apologizes and accepts his mistake, but haters need to pin him down or let him disappear from their sight forever. thousands hate him, but millions understand and love him.
These are my thoughts on the situation. From what I understand Yoongi was under the influence of alcohol while operating a vehicle. Which is illegal in Soith Korea, His alcohol levels. Were that of 7 times the legal limit in South Korea. He then put out a statement apologizing for his actions. Then bighit put out a statements. In their statement they called the vehicle a kickboard. They then put out a second statement correcting their wording. They then called it a folable electric scooter like this one, 🛴, but with a seat that also folds. I believe he got his license revoked and paid a fine or he will later. I completely understand why South Koreans are disappointed with is actions especially with the rise of accidents involving drunk driving. I also understand where the international fans are coming from with the excessive harassment that Min Yoongi is facing. I completely understand that he could have hurt himself or someone else and that what he did is illegal. This is why I believe revoking his license and paying a hefty fine is required for him. He broke a law therefore must face the consequences. However, it is such a reach for him to go to jail. Why should he go to jail for a DUI that didn't cause any type of damages? Especially for five years. Seungri went to jail for arranging sex trafficking for foreign investors in 2015 and misappropriating funds. He only went to jail for 18 months for these charges. If Min Yoongi goes to jail for five years that would be equivalent to the amount of time that convicted rapist Jung Joon-young served for his crimes during Burning Sun. I am all for holding Yoongi accountable for his actions but calling for Jail would be a reach considering the circumstances and results of the crime he committed.
Don't worry, the Korean law is commuted during the trial, even if the conventional prison sentence is long. Maybe he won't go to jail. In the case of Seungri, he committed a much heavier crime, but his sentence was reduced. I think you are the only foreigners who know the exact truth about this..
This. All I can think about is how messed up the justice system is if they put him in jail for this when sex offenders are given shorter sentences than what they deserve.
Everyone, please do not underestimate the laws of other countries. We will always support Suga's future choices, but please be polite and respect the laws in Korea. Hopefully, whatever steps Suga chooses, he will be fine
@@movieaccountrelaxtime339 The thing is, he made a mistake. He was fined and his license was revoked . Nobody was hurt. The problem actually comes from the moment people start harassing him

And you are overreacting. He is being punished accordingly, but in his case why demanding harsher punishment? A severity on the crime and the consequent punishment takes into account many factors. Once the punishment is applied, you cannot demand further punishment or even to change the law retrospectively to satisfy blood lust and sick revenge like the haters are doing. It is becoming ridiculous. Unfortunately Suga is caught in this sick game of people expressing frustration for bigger issues left untreated by the law lashed against him. He is not the culprit of the road accidents under the influence in the country.
To those who continue to support Suga or feel that the criticism against him is excessive, I’d like to offer some perspective. In Korean society, drunk driving is regarded as a very serious crime. Many lives have been tragically lost due to drunk driving accidents. Suga, as a Korean, is undoubtedly aware of the numerous news reports covering these incidents. Just a few months ago, a singer named Kim Ho-joong, who is well-known among older generations, was caught for drunk driving. He faced intense backlash and is currently undergoing trial. The existence of such precedents has only intensified the criticism directed at Suga. My request to you is simple: please refrain from blindly defending Suga. Doing so only reflects poorly on his fanbase. I understand that the perception of drunk driving might vary in different countries, but I urge you to consider how severely this crime is viewed in Korea.

Yes, it was an irresponsibility that happend but everyone commits an irresponsibility sometimes. Everyone makes mistakes and Suga is not immune to mistakes because humans are not perfect. I know people tend to think famous people can never do anything wrong , that they are perfect. Famous people are humans too. So leave him alone!
As always korean media and korean netizens will never stop until their target idol and actors committed suicide. But sorry to disappoint you guys but those people who committed suicide has no one to turn to in times of problem. BTS is different. They love and support each other. Also this incident is not like the Burning Scandal..no sexual harrasment scandal..no drug scandal..nobody was injured or killed..just a common drunk driving incident. Dream on Suga has the love and support of his brothers (BTS) and his millions of fans.
The artist and company have taken full responsibility, apologised and accepted the outcome of this one-time-only unfortunate mistake. There is a big difference between honest reporting vs witch-hunting. The public and ARMY need to take a solid stand and hold the media accountable for the deliberate sensationalism, persecution, bullying, and defamation of artists. These issues are particularly prevalent in his case, and change is needed. The media's hands are already stained with the blood of far too many artists whose lives have been taken or destroyed by their witch-hunts and sensationalism, leaving behind a trail of shattered dreams and broken spirits.
Suga has made a mistake that is serious. Really, and he lied about his alcohol condition. But he apologized and certainly got consequences. He doesn't have to leave BTS, guys! It's his private life and we don't have to interfere with that! Nobody. Bighit will decide how they deal with it and not us.
Excuse me, he didn't lie about his alcohol condition. He said he had a drink, he never said how many glasses he had. And the alcohol level was not confirmed. Yes he apologized and owned up to his mistake and he got penalized for it already. Case should have been closed, right, but some people decide to drag him and make him suffer. Why?? There are worse and more serious mistake than falling off an electric kickboard because he had a drink. He didn't hurt anyone or damage any property. People just blow things out of proportion because he is a celebrity , esp a member of BTS.
He drove a bloody e-scooter. He was driving at walking speed, you can see for yourselves in the actual video, not the fake video released by JTBC! He fell because he took a sharp turn and his wheel got stuck in the concrete, not coz he was drunk. You can see it clearly in the cctv camera! He was at dinner 500m away from home. He didn't lie about anything. There is absolutely no reason to hold Suga responsible for anything. The police is shit for taking this out of proportion! There has been no crime committed here! Check your facts! Believing everything the media tells you is dangerous. Since, you don't care about SUGA, you might as well shut your trap.
my main issue is korea has a drinking problem. they made all other substances super illegal, so this entails to more drinking. south korea has the most alcoholics in the world because of their drinking culture. all im saying is, if suga was high from the zaza he wouldve been okay lmao

I swear, this issue is so ridiculous and nothing but a joke! Imagine falling off your mini electric scooter because you were drunk and unable to balance yourself immediately. And then this happened? If it were just a normal person, I bet it would be a viral, funny meme video or something on the internet. Just because he is a celebrity doesn't mean that you can immediately cancel or crucify him over a normal human mistake, especially since he didn't cause any harm to anyone during that incident. An apology and paying the fine is enough; that's it! The Korean media and public are overdramatic. There are other serious and significant cases and issues that they need to focus on in their society, yet this is what’s more important to them?! Leave the man alone!
From the news it even looks like Suga killed someone! He committed a crime and fortunately didn't harm anyone. He assumed his guilt and took responsibility for it. This episode will certainly make him reflect on what he did wrong. The news is out, so are the public apologies, now that’s enough! Why prolong the subject? From what I've seen, too much ostracization can end in tragedy, as happened with Lee Sun-kyun. Isn't that a crime too??
to everyone saying we should forgive them because they are armies and everyone makes mistakes, please do be fair. drunk driving is how deadly accidents happen. it's not a simple mistake, it's a conscious choice to drunk drive instead of getting an Uber or having your friend bring you, which means he needs to be punished. i'm not saying he deserves every piece of hate he gets because k-pop fans tend to blow things out of proportion, i am saying that this is a serious and dangerous thing and it shouldn't be looked at or forgiven like a silly little mistake.

I beg the Korean government and the people of Republic of Korea, to do justice to these precious super idols, these treasures are rare, a gift to your country, treat them well while it lasts, you have that provision for exemption for Koreans who brought glory to the country, can’t it be used at this juncture for the so called national iconic, BTS?

3 years!!! That is ridiculous!! Making a elephant out of a mosquito! They didnt even cought him driving, but trying to park the vehicle!
are you stupid?
They caught him on cctv footage as well…
So, Why are the police are in front of his house by his parking lot?
And how the police know it was Suga driving? Isn’t it that’s where they supposed to pull him over on the street. Instead they are in his front house.
So basically they didn’t caught him driving. They caught him where he already parked his e-scooter in front of his house
3 years likely to apply in case of being caught driving a car or truck and having cause accidents with harm to people.
The cctv is questionable and not a proof. What matters is when the police noticed he was inebriated. He was afoot. By the way he was not driving but riding a smaller type of vehicle.

Can you believe this world news for a trivial DUI? Unbelievable. Quite scary - this Korea place 🤣😂🤣😂💜
in Korea drunk driving is VERY SERIOUS CRIME !!! As a foreigner you can even have your visa revoked just by a SINGLE DUI
many people have died due drunk drivers.. DUI isn't "trivial" it can cause mortal accidents.

He's a danger to society if he's driving any vehicle while drunk. He deserves serious punishment for this just like any other person who drives while drunk. You heard about the couple oilled by one in south korea recently. They are dangerous.
@@Tearsofblood25 lots of dangerous people and actions being committed on the daily. Does not take away from what Suga did.

You are saying he is in military then how can he be min yoongi
I hope that he just rode a taxi he might even have a new injury if he goes home drunk in the street aigoo-yaa😢

They are World no. 1, national treasures, treat them like ones, being a cook, security guard, marching band member, office worker etc are pretty demeaning to their stardom status, they had enough training to be reserve armies, truth is they could already stop war with their current status, they are so loved by millions all over the world, worshipped by many, sell everything they sell at an instant. Imprisonment up to 5 years mentioned is when DUI with a car or truck and in case there are casualties...why they did not specify it? They want to make of this case as the most atrocious of all... to me the disproportion of the reaction and the call for harsher punishment is worrisome and not justifiable. He pays whatever fine they decide and has licenced revoked temporary, that is what happens in every country in the world. It makes a huge difference that no harms was done, that the vehicle is limited in speed and weight, that at the moment of discovery he was NOT riding it, but was afoot. Those ring leaders are destroying Korean youth, should be your duties as journalists to cover that. Be professional.
