Amazing video! I love my Beetle. Volkswagen owns Porsche the company. So when someone says it’s the poor mans Porsche it’s kinda true. Same quality without the price tag.
I've owned a 2014 VW Beetle and I've owned 2013 VW Beetle and I now own a 2018 VW Beetle. If you get an RCD330 radio it is an OEM radio that will fit into a 2012 to 2019 VW Beetle and will add Apple CarPlay and is compatible with a rear view camera but you have to get the model ending in 187B or 187F so that you get the best one.
I have a 2012 Base Model. 5 speed manual. Currently 203,000 miles. Oil changed regularly, Mobil 1. Only 2 issues. Head gasket replaced, MAP sensor replaced twice. All fixes done by me. Driven in snow, handles well. When the weather causes ice the windows get tricky to get in car. Spray bottle diluted with alcohol and weather helps plenty to lower the window.
Your welcome, I had a Rav 4 before this car and it gave me problems but I know lots of people who never had problems with them so I guess you never know what’s gonna happen.
Same here! An ‘18 S with 68k miles. Nothing wrong I did switch to audi RS8 plugs and coils and it woke the car up a little. I’m about to do an oil change.
I have an ‘18 beetle with 68k miles. Keep good synthetic oil and use Exxon Mobil or shell gas. These VW’s are picky! I don’t know what engine you have but, if it’s the 1.8t then you should definitely keep good a synthetic oil. The engine in my ‘18 is starting to loosen up tolerances and in this Florida heat. My plan is to switch to a 5w-30 liquimoly 4200 with a Mann filter. You’re car is probably within the vw505 spec and I do recommend the liquimoly. I don’t know if this is a common thing with other beetles of the same year but! When I pulled my spark plugs I had a considerable amount of pre detonation on my plugs. When I switched to the Audi RS8 plugs and coils. The car acted and responded better. They detune these cars so much. The RS8 plugs were a range colder than factory so any sort of pre detonation would be factored out. I don’t expect you to know all of this but I do enjoy teaching people these things so they don’t get the bad end of the stick.
let me add this I hit a DEER 6 point buck at 65 mph for the speed i was going and the size of the buck if it had been a metal fender and such it would have caused alot of damage but the plastic absorbe3d most of the impact
If you lock the car and then go to unlock the car via the door handle( hold the door unlock with the hand in the handle) hold it and it will roll down the windows and open the sunroof. And the just hold lock ( via the door handle) and it will close all the windows and close the sunroof!!
thank you so much for addressing the tall concerns!! I really want this car but i’m a 5’11” girl and i’m scared I won’t have head/leg room when i’m driving😬 i’ve been looking for info on the head room for so long. good to know that a 6’0” person was comfortable!
I’ve been wanting a beetle for a while and now that I’ll be a freshman in hs and starting drivers ed spring semester I wanted to look into the car more so this video is super awesome!! My mom said she’ll try to get me one as my first car so that’s exciting :D 🎉
hey its me the girl who locked her keys in their beetle from the other video! its only if the car is on it doesnt lock inside ... which is pretty useless. if it makes you feel better though the police couldnt even open it because of the security measures on our cars so it was really hard to get open lol
I also would like to know this. I’ve heard that the older versions aren’t as reliable so I am planning on getting a 2016-2018 (one of the newer models) so that it’s less likely to have any problems. but I’m still not 100% sure if the newer models are reliable
Also, the reason your car locked is probably because you had the spare key with you right outside of your car until you went to try going in without the spare! Just a guess but I know this feature works in my Jetta.
it wont lock the key in the car if its in the ignition the car safty feature lock it automatically if you un lock and the dont do anything else i found out the hard way.I have a 2001 and if i use the key in the door it will roll up or deown the windows
Hi, just got myself a 2004 VW Beetle and I'm looking to gradually fix it up. I'm on the hunt for a mechanic in Miami with reasonable prices. Appreciate any recommendations you can throw my way. Thanks a bunch in advance!
Does your VW Beetle car say “You Have An Incoming Phone Call” or “Pick up your phone”? My 2013 Chevy Equinox says that when I have a phone call coming in
That’s because back in the 1930s Adolf Hitler had Ferdinand Porsche design a small car for the people became known as the peoples car it was known as the Volkswagen type one and then later got called the beetle because of its shape.
It really is a poor man's Porsche, the reason is because it takes a lot of Porsche parts. They are interchangeable and cheaper then a Porsche. Volkswagen actually own Porsche
Yep, Ferdinand Porsche and Hitler designed it. It was called "The People's Car". Check Porsche's Wikipedia page, it sheds some light on it. If you get a Beetle Turbo...even better.

oh wow!
i've had a lot of different cars over the years, but my 2014 VW Beetle was the best car I've ever owned.. it literally had a soul..

That’s amazing I keep seeing people say they give out at 150,000 miles 😭😭😭😫😒
I LOVE you car. I understand about the maintenance but it's worth it!!!! You just can't say no to a beetle!!!
thanks so much! i was thinking the same thing🤣
I got the turbo if maintained they'll last forever economical and fun to drive
I got a 2018 Beetle in 2018 . I still have it and I’ve never had any problems.
that’s good! thanks for watching ❤️

The knob sunroof thing works on some VW but the Beetle has a sloping roof so the sunroof can't really open fully. I hope that helps!
oh wow that makes sense! thank you!

if the sunroof did go all the way back the hatchback trunk can not open
oh that makes so much sense! thank you!
@@MorghanNoelle your welcome hope this helped
And it still looks terrific as ever
thanks so much!

Think any chance VW might bring the Beetle back...........................as an electric car?
maybe! i’ve heard this isn’t the first time they’ve been discontinued
hey its me the girl who locked her keys in their beetle from the other video! its only if the car is on it doesnt lock inside ... which is pretty useless. if it makes you feel better though the police couldnt even open it because of the security measures on our cars so it was really hard to get open lol
oh wow thats so interesting!!
And the locking of key inside when you leave them , it’s a VW thing , it’s a safety thing 😊
This is my dream car!!! Is this a reliable and safe car? Is this a good first car for me to buy as a first car? How does it drive in the freeway?

oh okay! thank you❤️
Holding the unlock button down on the remote opens my windows on my 2013 beetle
oh wow! i'll have to try that
I have a base model 2013 vw
beetle. And it doesn’t work on mine
What are the maintenance problems?
It’s so expensive.
So what stuff about the maintenance are you talking about I'm very interested??😊
Try nano sparkle-a cloth that removes car scratches
Sometimes you have to keep it well-maintained/That’s a nice Looking VW Bug by the by
thank you!
You had and are still having big fun driving that 2013 VW Beetle
I’m not sure to buy a 2018 beetle with less than 20,000 miles. Someone give me input 😩
less than 20,000 miles is gooood! i say go for it!

I have a 2005 convertible beetle, lots of problems especially electrical problems
it' so unfortunate
Yikes I’m about to get a 2004 model I’m already preparing for the issues😂😭

how did you do it can you share with me , thank you
Which year is your car btw? Is it 2018?
Does your VW Beetle car say “You Have An Incoming Phone Call” or “Pick up your phone”? My 2013 Chevy Equinox says that when I have a phone call coming in
nope! it just rings!
That’s because back in the 1930s Adolf Hitler had Ferdinand Porsche design a small car for the people became known as the peoples car it was known as the Volkswagen type one and then later got called the beetle because of its shape.
Also, check out the Car Wizard's RUclips Page-He has a VW Beetle too(A Diesel)
cool! i'll definitely check him out
Use a GPS on your phone
Also, I looked on Aaron On Autos’s RUclips Page and he said that the VW Beetle was labeled as a “Poor Man’s Porsche”
oh okay, nice!
I’m really guessing that you do not know that Volkswagen is the parent company for Porsche
If you get a chance, check out Baja Bob(a 2000 VW Beetle GLS) on RUclips
gotcha!
Belinda Atkinson
Parts look cheap, but they are very expensive.
Also, Check out Hoovies Garage, Too-He Has A VW Beetle Himself
nice!
I also saw in another video about a VW Beetle wanting to be a Porsche so bad
honestly i can see the resemblance
VW makes Porsche, so makes sense!
kinda like how chargers want to be the next mustangs.
Perhaps show the beautiful car and not only u😂😂😂
Have you ever fit three people in the back
I cant see it happening, but thenagain even in a regular car, 3 people inthe back seat is still pretty tight.
It really is a poor man's Porsche, the reason is because it takes a lot of Porsche parts. They are interchangeable and cheaper then a Porsche. Volkswagen actually own Porsche
oh wow!! that's so interesting
Which parts? I’m intrigued I want to be able to go as fast as a 911 😂

Brakes, bolts, calibers and audis too. Pretty all the engine parts. Look at the inside of your console. It might say audi
Coil pack, you can use some of it's spark plugs and wires
Don’t feel bad 2002 Passat is a poor man’s Audi A4
hahahaha
