Man! We are super excited for you Travis. Been with you awhile now. Good to see u are constantly moving forward brotha. Gods good to his faithful servants.
Congrats. One of the best things in the world is to walk into a greenhouse on a cold blustery Winter's day and immediately get smacked by that sweet smell and feel the warmth. I miss it. Way to go.
That’s AWESOME!!!! But still need an electricity backup. Generator, WBS or propane. I watched 3 greenhouses lose everything when we had snowmegeddon here in Texas a few years back, because they didn’t have a backup heat source. Thousands of dollars worth of plants.
We’ll see if the cooling system cycles off and on a lot. The problem with normal thermostats is there is only a fixed 1 or 2 degs between on and off. The fans may prematurely cool off the thermostat before the whole room air gets mixed to a uniform temp. They do sell thermostats with up to an adjustable 10 deg F difference between on and off. That will allow for a little extra cooling before it cycles off allowing the cooler air to mix with the pockets of warmer air still in the building.
That's why those HAF fans run constantly (except when the vent and big fan turns on). They keep the temp in there pretty constant. Running the heater the last couple nights I've checked corners and different areas in there and the heat gets distributed very well.
@@LazyDogFarm Just curious. Time will tell. You'd think that other greenhouses would have figured all this out by now. It'd be nice to have a remote thermometer in there that you could monitor the inside temp from the house. La Crosse Technology has some. But I'm not sure they'll reach that far.
@@brianczuhai8909 You can get as fancy with as you want. They have technology to monitor and control it all from your phone. But that stuff costs significantly more than what I have.
Michigander here. Why didn't you just get a 100 lb tank set from a propane company? Or if you bought a 250 or 500 lb pig, you could have had it serviced by any propane company?
I would have gone that route if I lived somewhere with longer, more severe winters. But down here we might have three cold nights in a row, then be back in shorts for a week. lol
@@LazyDogFarm it looks like they do deliver to all 48 contiguous states. what model did you end up getting? cant find a 30x40 option on these so far. thanks.
power to a greenhouse is no different to power to a shed. they just not wanting the job, as digging required 600mm or whatever your code is, in orange conduit.
There are some "tricks to the trade" as far as how to hook up everything inside the greenhouse so that the automations work properly. Glad I was able to find a guy who specializes in greenhouses. But you're right, most of them didn't want to fool with it.

Congratulations Travis beautiful greenhouse setup
Amazing setup!
So excited for you! Beautiful greenhouse and look at that shade cloth! Wow! Blessings!
Great work on the greenhouse. Absolutely cannot wait.
I’ve put a lot of pipe in the ground and I’ve never heard of someone watering to make the ground softer to dig. Nice work!
Worked like a charm!
Loved the video and the new greenhouse ❤
So happy for you Travis! Looking forward to seeing many good things coming out of the new greenhouse.
Nice new greenhouse looks great 🇳🇿❤️
Very nice Travis!
Indeed 😊
I use a tip proof heater for my tiny popup greenhouse.
Acf greenhouse has a great calculator for heat requirements and exhaust fan requirements
Just beautiful can’t wait to see your plants in there
Congratulations, Travis. Very happy for you 🙂

Hey Travis, congrats on the greenhouse! Are you able to share the brand name of the ground cover used? Have a great Thanksgiving.
No idea. It wasn't branded when I got it. The man that built the greenhouse for me just brought it along with the other pieces on a big trailer.
congrats. Can you share where I can purchase the benches/tables?
I get them from ULINE. They're called "dunnage racks."
Just curious did you consider getting a diy mini split? Feels like for a large place maybe one or two of those would be pretty energy efficient
I didn't. I went with what the greenhouse supplier and electrician recommended.

What is the greenhouse you ended up getting (or what site?)
Got it from Atlas Greenhouses. They're pretty local to us -- only an hour or so away.
