Thank you, your video was concise and clear. I appreciate you getting straight to the point unlike so many 3D tutorials I come across. Please continue to upload more 3D videos, great value here!
i got a issue, when i'm using a IES light and put tex to distribution channel it dooesn't work. but if i put to normal area light it will worked as well, any advice?
Yeah, you could animate the distortion using a displacement map effects in after effects. Alternatively, I'm pretty sure it would be possible to replicate the caustics patterns using native noises layers which would be even more accurate.
For true water caustic animation, you need to get an image sequence and upload it into the diffuse channel. Or, you can use the static image and key frame the XYZ transform and move it, although this won’t be true to real life
When I create the lights, both the octane sky and the ies light, and then enter the node editor, Ii can't find the OctaneLightTag, which should be there, right? Could you tell me how to create it or what I'm doing wrong? Thanks.

Lovely - great tip. I wonder if animated keyframes in the transform node can be used to achieve the organic randomness of water caustic movement
100%, if you move it very slowly it looks super cool. Also adding color to the distribution in all sorts of manners adds amazing effects.

there is a myriad of things that could be the issue unfortunately. best I can say is go step by step slowly.
@@JimiJames i'll give it another try but no matter how many lights I created, I never got the tag. Thanks for answering.
