I was really content with Surfshark on Windows and Arndroid since 2019 but it's horrible on Linux. The app lacks any functionality apart from choosing the country, is still in beta phase after multiple years and only available on Debian based distros. The repo expired a couple of months ago with no way of installing the app for multiple days. Additionally there is still no wireguard support despite an announcement over a year ago on Twitter. I also always have to set my DNS manually, since I get DNS leaks with the default configuration. So the VPN doesn't even work out of the box.The fact that cancelling the subscription requires direct contact with customer support sums up my whole user experience. I'd really stay away from Surfshark as they don't seem to care about Linux whatsoever
Mullvad: GUI/terminal; fully open-sourced; can be bought with Monero; Wireguard, app splittunelling (which most VPNs don’t have on Linux); no need for email, password, legal name etc., based in Sweden.
And not a single word about, that it is illegal to bypass geoblocking. If you do so, you are treaded as a software (.. movie .. music.. etc-) pirate at court. And you should know: There are two things that the Western Nations have no pardon with. First, Tax defrauder, second, Digital Right Pirates. So a single word of warning would be a good thing though.
This video is just what I was looking for. I guess I'll go for Nord, not having a GUI is not a big deal, although I don't see many mentions to Arch Linux and related distros, I'll check the AUR, there's a good change they're in there anyway :p thank you very much, this was very useful!
none of these are any i would sign up for. for free, sure, i'd try them out, but giving any sort of billing information to any of these companies is something no one should do. you will without a doubt end up with a service that is unreliable, connection cutting out here and there and when you pay for something, that should not exist at all.

yeah, guess I'm gonna go with PIA. I just need basic VPN functionality anyways.

Would love to see an update video to that topic. At least Mullvad and ProtonVPN now offer a GUI...
Why don't VPN services offer GUI's for linux?
As I'm watching this netflix doesn't work unless I turn off Nordvpn. Split tunneling doesn't work on nord either.
Thanks for your hard work. You gave me a lot to think about.
Nice edit , text , content
