Go get a TPM tire pressure monitor for the boat trailer and get tire covers, the Sun can kill tires over time, don't forget to detail the boat haul and tower out and buff it out to a mirror finish. I like the LED lights setup, I should do that to my boat too.
hi Brandon, curious if you have ever watched Gus from InTooDeep? seems like he could be a wealth of knowledge for boat life down in FL for you, and you two seem to have personalities that would mesh well! stay safe, happy holidays!
Brandon, contact Mercury and get "175" decals for the Starboard motor! Twins need to look alike. Also, you got a hell of a deal on that boat. Looks great!
Don't cross the gulf stream until you have either an EPIRB or a Garmin Inreach, or preferably both. Also make sure you research the weather patterns, be patient to wait for a good weather window, and talk to others that have done it.
Definitely some needed upgrades man! That boat is gonna look nice out on the water at night with the underwater lights on. Have you officially moved to Miami or just there for a few months?
Check out the Kuuma propane boat grills. I’ve had mime for 5 years and it still works perfectly and is a fraction of the price of Magma grills. You can also use a rod holder mount to use in your existing rod holders.
Liking all your videos man! The wife and I think of shipping our boat to Florida all the time! If ya ever make it out to Vegas we have a 360 Sundancer on Lake Mead, get at me and we’ll show ya around 🤙🏼
Lots of nice updates Brandon, is there some kind of alarm system you can add, not so much as someone stealing the trailer and boat but what if someone comes while your sleeping to steal the speakers and other electronics??
nahhh the boat looks fantastic so does the truck you are a sick creator love ya and if i may ask do you have a bathroom on the boat maybe i missed but it dosnt have on right?
You got that old boat looking pretty good buddy as far as price goes boating is expensive you're like me every dollar is worth it because of the memories my boat is over 40 years old and I only have 2500 in the boat and the trailer plus accessories I've already changed all the bulbs to LEDs but the boat I am restoring is a 1983 Carver Monterey 26 on a tri axle trailer
Those are some great suggestions! Here are a few more I thought of you may want to consider: A couple of solar panels for the hard top. I don't know what size might fit best up there - but, more power is always better, if you can fit them up there. Use those to help keep the house batteries charged up and reduce your need for a generator. LiFePO4 Batteries. These have come down in price a lot and now represent a viable alternative to lead acid batteries in all applications where they might be used on a boat. That goes for house batteries and starting batteries, as long as you purchase the right kind for your application. Lighter weight, less long term cost, no maintenance, higher capacity - better in every way. Other items that may not be as fun, but every bit as important for any boat owner: Cleaning supplies, waxes, polishes, an orbital buffer, etc. - things to keep the boat clean and shiny. Tools to help maintain the boat. Spare parts for the boat. Nice new fenders. Dock box(es) Safety equipment, like PFDs, flares, whistles, LED strobe lights, locator beacons, etc. Emergency life raft No shortage of stuff to buy for a boat! Thanks for the video, Brandon!
A 30yr old Robalo in the condition of yours, or even maybe a little less, will sell pretty easy down on the Texas coast in the $20K range- And that isn't with that new of Optimax's on it-I looked at a couple of Robalos this past spring, but ended up buying a 1997 26' Grady-White with 2010 model Johnson 250s for just under $23K- I think your doing just fine kiddo!😁
Why all LED's in blue? Maybe it's something for a boat like that. But for us with sailboats, we use red, easier on the eyes in the dark. Also, why did you decide on that length? Maybe I've missed that...
You are new down here ! So many boats are Stolen every day ! They just hook it up in seconds and drive off ! PROS ! I can't help but see how your boat is next to the street !
That electroduct stuff on the motors isn’t that supposed to be solid and sealed from the motor to the transom to keep water and mainly salt out of there? Feel like you might be setting yourself up for some strong corrosion issues down the road as those might let some water out but trap stuff inside too. Just my 2 cents also I like your lights I don’t want to end up on your next tee shirt 😂😂
That's a very good point haha I didn't think of that but I'll definitely keep an eye on it. And don't worry, you gotta be very mean to make it on a shirt haha
Its nice to see your boat life but im missing the videos when you were on your van life, seemed to be more of a journey to get to places ive never seen. Apart from that have a good week Brandon
@@BrandonGrossYou’re too cool to roast. I’ll be visiting my brother in Deerfield beach Dec 28-31. He has a Piper Cherokee aircraft and we may do some flying over the Everglades and the ocean.
I'd love to support your channel. Problem is, why would I want to support someone spent thousands on repairs, upgrades, and FUEL for THEIR boat?? Now, I get the fact it's a channel meant for 'entertainment'. It just seems it would sit better with me if I was supporting someone who got to live their best life having fun traveling by wind power. Good luck, go Steelers
I always look forward to your videos!
Enjoying the journey.....Thanks Brandon for the post.
Merry Christmas Brandon!!
Thanks! Same to you!
One thing I always put on our boats are first aid kits! Don’t know if you have one or not but it’s an idea for your boat ❤
I actually have two on this one! haha
Hey Brandon! Hope all is goin well! Merry Christmas!! 🎄🥰🎄
Does gifting yourself a boat for Christmas count as a practical gift for Boat Life?
😂 Absolutely!
Hahah 100000%
Yes
Yes it does😂

@@BrandonGross Hope you're loving the new boat. I thought the one you had in Pittsburgh was fantastic.
Love the Miami vibe 🌴🌊

Magma Grill for the boat. Can fit in rod holders.
I almost want to start leaving some mean comments so I can end up on a shirt😂
😂😂
Great video, broskie. You should have done it on the water. I want to see the blue water man, lol
Definitely some needed upgrades man! That boat is gonna look nice out on the water at night with the underwater lights on.
Have you officially moved to Miami or just there for a few months?
Thanks! I think it looks awesome at night now! I have no plans on leaving Florida any time soon
So sick dude!
Prob should have a ditch bag.. Eperb n such

Oh no way! I’ll definitely look into that. I was thinking I was gonna have to mount something new for a grill

@ it’ll be a little chilly but the offer stands 🤙🏼
Great content Brandon , Lights look cool 👌
My plan is to buy a boat to live on and retire , but the wife isn’t as interested 😂.
Lots of nice updates Brandon, is there some kind of alarm system you can add, not so much as someone stealing the trailer and boat but what if someone comes while your sleeping to steal the speakers and other electronics??
I do have cameras on the front of our house that cover the whole boat
nahhh the boat looks fantastic so does the truck you are a sick creator love ya and if i may ask do you have a bathroom on the boat maybe i missed but it dosnt have on right?
Thank you!! And yeah it does have a head, whether it works or not is another question haha
Awesome I like the way you saved $ and fix it all yourself ! Let see if you can update the inside area?
Thanks! I always try to save money doing things myself! Interior upgrades may just have to be next!

I hope this boat has a canvas to keep you out of the elements
It does not unfortunately

$17k and alot of elbow grease is well worth it for that Robalo

Ok, but where is the Christmas tree? 🤷🏻♀️🎄
Very good question! I need to get on that

I definitely understand! No worries at all!
Are you still looking for a boat to live on full time ?
Not actively searching at the moment but I think I will be in the future
cant you just take the pole out n replace that part
I was going to but it looked like it was going to be such a pain to do. Basically same amount of work if not more than just replacing it
It's still strange to see you not living on the boat.
I know I know. But baby steps! Hoping to have a big ole trawler eventually
That’s a Steal lol. I would be all over that. Paid 43,000 for a 20’ pontoon then this summer paid 57,000 for 23’ Tritoon lol.
Haha thanks man! I heard those tritoons are pretty nice though
