I'm 36, randomly remembered Strega Nona from elementary school, and ended up here. Proof that his books and illustrations had an impact not just on children, but the adults those children became.
As a gender-nonconforming boy, Oliver Button had the most profound effect on how I expressed myself. It’s one of those books that you don’t realize has an effect on until you’re 10 years down the line. Rest In Peace, Tomie. 💕
