Hello fellow Samantha! I feel you on that thought. If you haven't already, you should definitely read the book. This film was well made and the fact it was filmed in the German language added a more realistic touch, but I do feel they left out some important parts from the book! If you would like to know more about the thoughts of the main character and personalities of his comrades, the book is very good. The casting of this film is perfect to visualize while reading
