    I dont really like this kinds of suspicion towards athletes like Rohan Dennis. I think the reason that his results vary this much is his personality that seems challenging to work with. As many have pointed out earlier his w/kg have been quite stable over the years, and that Giro was arguably one of the weakest fields in a modern Grand Tour ever. Tao hasnt been close to leading a single Ineos squad since.

    You've got this all wrong. Dennis has always had the capability to be a climber. He chose to focus on ITTs, because he doesn't enjoy or suit the discipline needed to be a GC rider. He's not a heavyweight TT rider like Ganna, he has the power to weight to climb with the best. If you've followed Dennis, you'd know he's volatile. GC riding is stressful and he can't handle it. None of this tells us if he or anyone else is clean but his climbing ability was already there. Always was. He won that US stage race way back with Garmin (?) but was sacked for abusing team staff.

      Life is not fair. The suspicion of doping towards all cyclist is valid. Since doping was inherently part of the sport of cycling for many decades. Teams were even running their own doping program to win. Clean riders who refused to take PED would get fired by their own teams.
      Cycling still needs a lot of work to clean up its image that its a clean sport. Take note that Lance Armstrong never failed a single drug test in his life. If it wasn't for a whistle blower Floyd Landis who outed him.

    This is stupid. Time trialist are very good for steady climbing, specially if they are not heavy built. Look at Van Aert and Evenepoel now. Also, a rider does not give 100% every day in a grand tour. You wait for your moment or the task that is given to you. So maybe he was invisible the first 2 weeks, because they had a plan to use him in the last week (and he would have trained specific for that)

  • @xx765
    @xx765 Год назад

    This whole video is just groundless speculation... well the only 'ground' is that Dennis did somewhat 'surprisingly well' for two days. Well that can be said about Pog for his TT in the TdF, about WVA for his all-around performance in the TdF and breakaway win in a high mountain stage, about Jonas easily defending against Pog on countless attacks... basically about anyone who's ever done well in a cycling race.
    It's laughable some of these 'hints'... straight-up conspiracy theory stuff. Like saying that 'oh double ITT world champ didn't even do that well in the opening ITT, even worse than Ganna'. FFS it is Ganna, and with him there Dennis was clearly on mountain domestique duty so he was not going to go hard in the ITT. Then the video goes on to say that Dennis didn't do anything spectacular for the first two weeks of that Giro. Well that's what domestiques do. Ineos had always had ridiculously good riders be complete support riders, like Richie, Poels, Thomas, Bernal, and even Froome himself. When these guys were on domestique duties, they too were doing almost nothing except that one or two mountain lead out. The video keeps making non-sense like 'how could an ITT guy like Dennis suddenly become a good climber for 40 minutes'? C'mon that's exactly the point. These guys are extremely good at giving ridiculous wattage, as long as it's steady output under an hour. Any mid-small sized ITT specialist would naturally do really well in these scenarios, like Almeida and ... REMCO. Even big guys like Dumoulin do it.
    To sum up, a video made by a conspiracist with very limited cycling knowledge.
