Back tension is a shooting style, not a release style. Its a resistance release. You cam shoot back tension with any release. its just using your back to activate the release by pulling with your back muscles.

Great info. Been looking at thumb buttons for a while. What do you think about the UV Button?

That is absolutely not what the Stan Click is for. It was created to do the complete opposite of normal thumb releases, you do not pull through your shot.

Hey Robby! Thanks for the comment. You can shoot this release by applying pressure on the trigger (slow squeeze) or you can slowly relax your hand while keeping constant pressure in your back muscles like a traditional thumb button. Each archer has a specific process and we encourage everyone to use what they’re most accurate and consistent with. How do I know this about the Stan Clicker? I actually got to use this release with Joel Turner before it was released to the general public. He instructed me on the reasons why this release was made. Hope that clears things up!

@@Jerlopy007 yes and he absolutely instructs you to use single digit manipulation, not pulling through. Or else you would just use a regular thumb button. The click is strictly to squeeze with your thumb until you hear the click, and since your thumb has been activated to that point it makes it easier to continue squeezing with your thumb, without punching the trigger. If you’ve talked to him, then you know that’s exactly how he teaches it, at no point does he teach you to pull through with the click. That’s what he teaches with a regular thumb release.

@@robbydallis760You’re absolutely right Robby! He does teach that. So slow you can stop it, right? Like I stated before, there’s multiple ways to shoot that release, just like every other release. Some people like a click when they’re pulling through a shot. It relieves their mind. Others might choose not to have a click, which then you could shoot a regular thumb button. There’s no “right” way; it’s what works for you to make you a better archer. Appreciate your feedback and thanks for watching!

Totally improper trigger release setup and use. Really? Showing how to punch
