Hi Penny I just wanted to reach out and say thanks for posting this video im currently going through some issues of how to change how i have my QuickBooks set up because I'm looking to grow. Job costing would help but i never understood the items line on the expense area. Thanks for all the info!
Great video, Penny! Thanks for taking the time to explain the differences between the two. We are currently using QBO and I have recently been considering making the transition over to QBDT for Contractors. However, before making the investment (both financially and in time that it would take to learn the new software), I wanted to hear your thoughts on whether or not QuickBooks Premier for Contractors is geared more toward larger companies or general contractors, or, could it also be beneficial for a very small company like ours, with no employee payroll to track, only 1099 contractors that are paid based on their labor and expense costs per project. (See? When I said a "very small company", I wasn't kidding!) Also, our business is specific to site work/excavating, and there are many different services that we provide with costs related to each. (Our COGS accounts and items/cost codes in QBO are actually very similar to what was shown early on in the video as being used for QBDT. ) While it would be great to have the option of seeing much more detailed job costing & profitability reports, I can't help but wonder if this would be overkill for a small business like ours?
Hi - It really depends. Usually I would say that your business could do really well in QuickBooks Online, maybe it's just not set up optimally. The best thing to do would be to make a free 15 minute strategy session appt with me and I can assess your specific situation and make a recommendation. You can schedule with me here: www.pennylaneu.as.me/
Great job! Best video we have come across to compare these two versions of QB. Thanks Penny!
