- Recorded May 2019 and March 2024 Welcome back to the 7th and final part of this Great Western adventure. Today, we will be exploring the Cornish extremity of the Railway empire. Starting at the naval city of Plymouth, we explore the various rural branchlines to Looe, Newquay, Falmouth and St Ives, winding our way through numerous charismatic towns before arriving at our final destination of Penzance
Stopping At: Plymouth, St Beaudaux Ferry Road, Saltash, Menheniot, Liskeard, Bodmin Parkway, Lostwithiel, Par, St Austell, Truro, Redruth, Cambourne, Hayle, St Erth and Penzance
Fascinating insight into Cornwall's railway stations. Well done.
Excellent video. Thank you. Greetings from Bodmin Moor - the remote bit.
Came across the channel by accident, most enjoyable so have subscribed and will watch the rest!
Just spent a week doing all those lines, and Gunnislake...last chance for the class 43's i think,
Lived in Looe for a few years in the 80's - and, over time, drove past many of these stations - always wondering what they were like - now I know! Thank you.
Fabulous video. Lovely shots with excellent information about each station. 10/10. You earned a new sub.
The city centre is a TEN MIMUTE walk away you lazy so and so. Just because you have to walk up the hill and across the actually very well laid out pedestrian subways under North Cross roundabout makes it really easy and close. Where would you build a station in a city situated on a series of big hills?
Ideally it would be a Birmingham New Street sort of set up and located under the Drake Circus shopping centre ;)
It's still not ideal though, and that was the point he was making. Lone disabled people can find the journey to the station particularly difficult.
Very interesting, thank you!
Glad you enjoyed it :)
