We were poor and the only time we could afford oranges and tangerines and nuts was at Christmas. That's why we got an orange, a tangerine and nuts in our stockings. It made Christmas heavenly
I remember those days! We didn't put up stockings, but our Church gave us bags of fruit and a few pieces of candy. Unfortunately they don't make that kind of candy anymore.
My mother always put an orange at the bottom of our stockings as well as nuts in the shell too. I always just thought it was a southern thing. She said the oranges and nuts were something that families couldn't afford, so it was a special treat on Christmas to go into the stocking. It might be the only thing they got when she was a child. I over think album pages, I need to take your que on how to do a mini album faster. Love the album, it is so beautiful. Hugs, Brenda
We always had a bowl of nuts with the nut cracker out starting at Thanksgiving going through New Years. I remember cracking nuts and watching the Macys Thanksgiving Parade and the Rose Parade. Tangerines in the toes of our Christmas stocking along with new undies and socks and hair things.
I’m new to the scrapbooking scene. Watched one of your folio videos and now I can’t stop watching them. You are so informative and so creative. Love love love you
#replay. We had an apple, orange, walnuts, and other mixed nuts on our stockings. We were poor and with 4 kids it was expensive to fill stockings. Fruit & nuts made them look full.
Re-watching this months later but I never commented, how rude..so sorry! I remember occasionally getting an orange in my Christmas stocking but Mom rarely ever filled our stockings...it was hit or miss, haha. I made sure to keep up the stockings for my kids (mostly on St. Nicholas' feast day so they had something to look forward to early in December) and always had a really good orange in the toe of the stocking. Hubby always got nuts to shell in his too but the kids weren't fans of them. You kindled lovely memories, thank you. Since nobody is getting a sewn gift this year I need to step up my game and get some paper crafted lovely things made for Christmas like, right now!
I love Crafting, I could watch it all day long...JK. Since I discovered your postings some two years ago, I watch quite often. I love your voice and the way you think about crafting just amazes me. God Bless and your family.
Goodness Yes. We always had oranges and apples in our stocking for Christmas I did it for my children and my daughter does it for my grandkids and must have mixed nuts. But one of my grandson has tree nut allergies
Love this. My granddaughter is having twin boys in February. 7 sets of grandparents and great grandparents so I’ve got several photo albums to make. Making one for each boy for my granddaughter.
I'm not sure that I can, but I'm gonna try right after I have my coffee in the morning... thank you for sharing such an easy n pretty gift idea... God bless🌷
Terry's Chocolate Oranges are the best! Terry's is, or was, an English chocolate company and I'm an ex pat Brit so, every Christmas my mum would always make sure everyone in the family had one each to enjoy. When I eventually moved here to Texas I was disappointed because I couldn't find them here until just a few years ago. Now I get one each for myself and my family here. Yum!
I just want to pop in to say I appreciate the newer style of "covers" for your last few videos (Holiday Recipe Folio, As Many As Quick Gifts and this one). They are less busy and the titles pop better. Thank you!! Also, I love your work and could listen to you all day. I often look through your Product Parade page just to keep getting more MayMay tips and listen to your accent! 🤭
It used to take us 10-11 hours to get from Myrtle Beach to my husband's mom's in Maplesville. And Maplesville is what... 30 minutes from Clanton. These trip times I know! 😍
Hi Maymay 👋 I fell in love with this album and I have sooo much Christmas paper that i bought 6 of these albums to start and plan to make these to gift 🎁 for Christmas 🎄 Such an easy way to just roll them out quickly. Thanks so much for All you do (especially the measuring!)
oranges were always part of Christmas as were nuts in their shells, and I am almost 80. I love that paper with the oranges on it and I noticed there were several sheets of different kinds. I would love to make some Christmas cards for my kids out of that but don’t know where to get it. Could you help me even at this late date? Thank you.
I just completed my 2nd cottage cottage landscape book and have one more to go. I am creating them to have for my 3 grandchildren I added side flaps so there are 21 pages and I will add a Christmas picture to it each year up until there 21st birthday. So far I have done a log cabin and a brick house for the 2 boys and then I will do a girly one for my granddaughter
You were talking about what you put in your Christmas stockings I have the perfect idea for Vinny tell him to cut the toe out of his stocking and put a bushel basket underneath and see if Santa notices LOL
Just subscribed, thought I subscribed years ago. Saw about your area collaboration then realized what I needed to do. You are amazing! Subscribing now to a lot of channels in your home town area. I love watching decorating, crafts, wood working and family farm life videos. Best wishes!!
If the nut you were asking about was dark brown and flat on 3 sides, those are Brazilian nuts. Or that is what my mom called them. I grew up in Pascagoula, MS and my mom always put an orange, an apple, nuts in the shells and the Christmas only candies, like Heavenly Hash eggs, Gold chocolate fudge eggs ( the kind with the nuts in them) and the old fashioned hard Christmas candy mix was always out in a bowl on the table. I think is was because back in the day, especially after the depression, fresh fruit, candies and nuts were too expensive to buy all the time, so they only bought them on special occasions.
Hi, this particular album is not longer available, here is the 49 and MArket items that we currently have in the store: www.maymaymadeit.com/search?type=product&options%5Bprefix%5D=last&options%5Bunavailable_products%5D=last&q=49+and+market+
One thing I learned when putting my 49 and market Halloween album together last week I discovered that you really have to be sure you are working from the "real" front of the album! If you aren't careful and accidentally start covering the pages from the back.. it will not be opening correctly.. ho hummm did not discover that until I started to put photos in !!!
I mentioned this in a album build before and so many disagreed with me in the comments that I didn’t say it again! Lol. It doesn’t have to have a real front but the pages definitely fold better in a certain direction. I agree with you!
Hi, I have not received my holly jollyopolis kit yet. I don’t think it will arrive before next weekend. I also cannot get any tracking info from the link, absolutely nothing. Any ideas?
Such a cute folio. We got oranges and nuts.
Thank you for praying on your show.

That's what we got as kids, missed that!❤️
We got that, too, and pudding cups! That was a special treat!
Sometimes we even got a pack of gum with ours. That was over the moon.
We always had an orange in the toe of our stocking & unshelled peanuts filling the rest!
I remember those days! We didn't put up stockings, but our Church gave us bags of fruit and a few pieces of candy. Unfortunately they don't make that kind of candy anymore.

Very beautiful & you’re so creative… Mahalo for sharing… keeping you all in my prayers especially Vinnie’s dad… 💫🫶🏽🌺🙏🏽
I loved the oranges, almonds, walnuts, Brazil nuts, and pecans!! Thought I was the only one who received that as a stocking stuffer!!
We had pomegranates in the bottom of our stockings.
I love Crafting, I could watch it all day long...JK. Since I discovered your postings some two years ago, I watch quite often. I love your voice and the way you think about crafting just amazes me. God Bless and your family.
I like that the top of the paper shows the print that’s on the other side
Shout out from the Clack Shack, I have been enjoying your content and community involvement!
Love your ideas. Can you show us what we would need for making Victorian cards and tags for Christmas?
We had orange and nuts in shells in our stocking...I think my mom's generation was brought up to find those two items was so special.....
🧑🎄Beautiful album Maymay!🎅🏼 Amen to your prayer Vinnie. Thank you for that. 🙏🏻
Goodness Yes. We always had oranges and apples in our stocking for Christmas I did it for my children and my daughter does it for my grandkids and must have mixed nuts. But one of my grandson has tree nut allergies
