When you get close to another grid 150ish meters or so you can lock your dampeners to that grid so your ship will follow it along. The down side is that if the grid you're damped to crashes into the planet your ship will happily follow along all the way into the ground. You can use being damped to a grid as an easy way to dock and lock landing gear then use the thrusters on your fighter to bring the grid to a stop. It won't be fast when you have a small grid and you're locked to a large grid but it can be done. Taking ships intact is a pretty fun engineering challenge.
That’s really useful info ! We’ve seen splitsie do it but do you know how to ? We’ve had a look but come up blank ! And capturing ships is in our list , we want to create ship Frankensteins !
@@theoldskoolerz6081 This is where I get into trouble because I remap all my keys for every game. I picked a layout I liked back in the Half Life 1 days and have basically stuck with it. For me the Z key is to turn my dampeners on and off and ctrl-Z locks my dampeners to whatever I have my crosshair on if I'm close enough.

That’s perfect Thankyou , I think z is the default control anyway . But we can remap it to another key
u can use "/bi cn" in chat command to overlay conveyor connection
