My mum says thank you for sharing, she's been missing both her parents lately (both passed on) and to see this gives her happiness because the farm is where my Nan met my Pops. This place is the reason we are here today so Meitaki ma'ata & God Bless🙏🏽😊

the cook islanders are of a very respectful kind. they are friendly to anyone and the friendship with the farmer's family must have been genuine and obiously still is. all my love goes out to the maori nation in the pacific. you are special and you are so precious. ❤☮️🎸

A reunion and tribute to our parents, Aunties and Uncles who left all behind and traveled to an unknown world, many not ever seeing loved ones again. Coming to an isolated community of Porangahau and being welcomed with open hearts, learning everything new. This also reflects the love and warmth from the Ngati Kere -Mana Whenua of Porangahau and the Farmers, many of which our parents befriended and worked for. Those relationships still alive and meaningful now in 2020. Thank you for all your comments.

Kiaorana. Well done to this Cook Island community. A very similar situation happened in Tokoroa. My family originally from the area moved into our house in 1958, our neighbours from Aitutaki Cook Islands move next door to us the same year. Cook Island people very lovely. Meitaki ma ata.

Polynesian has been struggling in every way I’ve heard these stories growing up kids left behind by mother and father’s, most mad it others didn’t, while kids in the islands wait for both parents to come home, ends up having kids and moved on with another parents

I use to go nght spearing for flounder with Uncle Nga Tamakoue. Always a smoke dangling out of his mouth and a Tui beer close by and that laugh and smile he always wore. To date, I have never seen anyone come close to what he would catch spearing. RIP Uncle Nga xxx
