Remember in the 90’s when the majority of stars were just healthy, good looking, down to earth, hard working actors/writers who maintained a sense of normalcy regardless of their success. The Kim Kardashian equivalents (a la Anna Nicole, Fabio) were outliers rather than the norm. It just seems that everyone’s looks, money, body, personality etc is so magnetized and constructed nowadays. Even J-Law’s home spun tom boy turned glamour actress comes off as crude and insincere. I really do believe my parents’ generation (1956-1964) had it the best. The country calmed down a bit after the late 60’s, so a peaceful childhood (sans Nixon and the Aids crisis if you were a gay man) and all the way through till 9/11 before this reality tv, social media, hollywood starlet insanity began. We used to hire writers to create insane circumstances for television, now people just force themselves to live these crazy lifestyles to put their own lives on TV.
