    Looks like you had a nice day to test fly them both. Didn't see to much wind. Both of them looked good to me. Liked the bigger one the best..That full size chopper looked like a Robinson R 22. Last Saturday I was in the back yard and a Bell, Boeing V-22 Osprey flew over heading North bound toward Air Venture at Oshkosh.

      I thought is sounded like an R44, but not sure. Love the V-22. That is a real contraption. Thanks Tom.

    How do you like 470L vs. Fly barred trex’s? I recently acquired an older trex 500 fly barred with everything, and setting it up and hovering it has been like learning all over again. The modern fbl heli’s are just so locked and nimble.

    • @NightFlyyer
      @NightFlyyer  Год назад

      Well I started flying helis over 50 years ago, and they were all flybarred and no gyros. Later came rate gyros for the tail rotor, but all of them flew stable, as they were heavy and nitro powered. Today's gyros help the beginners, but I don't much care for them as they fight what I learned. But my 470 flies well, and for sure there are less parts to break in a crash. Have you seen any of my 1 bladed heli videos? Here is one, you may enjoy. Thanks and fly easy. ruclips.net/video/HLSgvFsZtk0/видео.html

    Yep, I like them both, but for different reasons. The big one is smooth and nimble and the smaller one like a dragon fly, quick and unpredictable; it's called Protean in the insect world. They're like two helicopters used for special ops, Black Hawk and MH-6 Little Bird. It's great to see you fixed tail rotor failure because an out of control heli is as dangerous as a momma bear with cubs..! SemperFi from Bud

    Fantastic Video! As I am trying to fly this same e180 I would like to ask you: If I were only interested in flying the e180 in a normal "relaxed" mode (certainly not 3d) could I just set up the throttle curve and for example leave the pitch curve @ 0 on all points?

    • @NightFlyyer
      @NightFlyyer  2 года назад

      The way the stock tx is set up, the gyro switch in 6g is exactly that. It won’t flip or roll over. I fly only in 3 g. When I put in my own tx and Rx, that gyro switch is the same. The Curves are right for that already. Hope that helps.

    • @ioskaioska5166
      @ioskaioska5166 2 года назад

      @@NightFlyyer Thank You for your reply. I understand but theoretically in flight mode 1 (6g how they call it) there are still some values for pitch curve. Could I set those down to0 for example?

    • @NightFlyyer
      @NightFlyyer  2 года назад +1

      @@ioskaioska5166 You have to have a pitch curve or it will not take off. My pitch curve on this is 7,30, 60, 85,95. Its enough to fly fine, and note it is the same for 3d or 6g. In 6g, if you have never flown, this is your best start. But know, it can fly away fast, so you have to fly it and stay oriented. Good luck.

    Man! I just LOVE the sound of that T-Rex! It just says, “I’m fast, I’m powerful, and I’m a badass!” You just know that thing can go really fast in forward flight. So powerful, yet graceful at the same time. The 180 is quick and nimble, but it sounds like a mosquito on steroids! 😂 Both are VERY cool, but my heart is with the T-Rex. Nice flying sir, as always, Semper Fi. 👍

      So true. It’s pretty knarly for sure. The tail rotor really makes all that noise with the gyro constantly working it. Thanks much and Semper Fi to you as well.

    Hey Dave thought it was cool to see you react to the new direct drive helis. Also see you've got the esky 900 still. I bought one but had to get rid of it because I couldnt get a new gear for it. I was super un-stoked about that

      Right on. I can't wait for a bigger one.....you know. Sorry about the gear. I totally understand Un-Stoked! Maybe they can be 3D printed these days, who knows. I do still have the 900 and still have and un-built one in the box. I bought a couple after the fire, just in case. They were only $99, bare bones. Anyway that is still one of my old favs. This little 180 is also my fave and it was a hit this past weekend at the Farmers Fun Fly, with a video coming soon. Thanks much.

    Looks like it was setup to fly "pins forward" that would have the BeastX to correct in the opposite way. Even now before every flight I check the swash plate counters any movement I I induce into it. I miss fly-bars sometimes.

      I have many old school helis and I like them too, but are getting expensive to fly. I just spent $55 for 1 gallon of 15% plus shipping, so just for ease and $, I seem to be flying more electrics. They are much snappier fliers too. Have you seen one of my Shuttle videos? Thanks Merl, but as you saw, I think I finally have this Beast x set up right. I think it had a lot to do with the very low gyro rate needed to get a purple light on it from the TX side. But I don't think at the moment, I want to spend another $200 to add to the price of the 470, since it came with the Microbeast X. Thanks much and I'll keep that in mind next time. Happy Flying.

      No brown out. My servos would have been locked in failsafe mode if that happens. If you watch the crash in the slow motion, you will see it piroette like 2 times.
