Same as that matey, I’m 59 tomorrow and it was the best times back then. Started for me mid eighties with the acid house illegal parties and the following ten years or so are not much more than a blur 🤣👍🏻
Nobody had the experiences we had the peak in the summers of 91 and 92 were something else. Brilliant times. Am I really 47? Where did time go? Take me back one more time🙂
God rocks your body, that's why you're listening to this. At the End, time is spinning faster, Your Soul too! Over 150 bpm sound like symphony, theese days. God Bless You!
Many thanks to you, Mickey. This is very much appreciated 👍 I was in my late 30s during the time of these old skool banging tunes and they certainly bring back some great memories. I'm now in my late 60s, but it makes no difference to me. I still love dancing to tracks like these. Even if it is now only in my living room, instead of a night club or rave. Hardcore 'til I die 🙂
A better time to be alive. This is like a Prelude to the Hackers soundtrack 😎👍 No cell phones or selfies, just dancing with your friends at an illegal party, absorbing & enjoying every moment.
Didn’t get the pleasure of hearing these tunes in the clubs when they were fresh (I’m 36) but have heard all these tracks 1000s of times and they still sound fresh. Awesome mix.
When I was a young man I listen to this while driving, I can tell you it was a bad idea my right foot seemed to want push down harder, so many tickets so many close calls.
I just bought a new car which has an awesome sound system. I drive extra miles for sounds like these, and I will not ever question the price of diesel because of it. ❤
41 nearly 42 now and missed out on the best of the rave years by time i was old enough to go clubbing/raving, i cut my teeth on mid to late 90s hardcore and jungle at school but i'm now discovering some amazing tunes and mixes nearly 30 years later great mix thank you for making my day with some belting beats 😊
I'm 34: and I've never been at a rave before, but some of these songs kind of reminds me of Jet Set Radio Future a bit. That game got me into listening to other genres later on in my life. Thanks for the upload.
What a terrific mix, and it's even including my favourite part of Acen's Trip II the moon, namely Part 3! I'll never get tired of these classics even if I'm too young to have fully experienced this era as a young adult. In 1992, I was just a 10-year-old boy. A bit too young to travel from Germany to the UK and go to a rave or to Shelley's Laserdome in Longton, Stoke, isn't it? :D I got introduced to this kind of music when I had access to MTV Europe for the very first time in 1993, still broadcasting from the UK back then, and was fascinated by the early Prodigy tunes from the Experience album and some other UK oldschool / breakbeat / hardcore electronic dance music, mostly played on MTV Party Zone. Subsequently, it took me a while to get full access to countless other brilliant classic tracks from this time and genre which were not shown on the telly when MTV Europe was broadcasting from the UK. They took me back to that era instantly and they still do. Those who are ten years older and living in the UK at that time can count themselves lucky as they witnessed and experienced all of it! :) Thank you so much for creating and sharing this mix and best regards from Germany to all those who still love this totally unique era like I do!
I love this music, my wife says I should have grown out of it by now but at 52 I think I love it more than ever. My fav place to go was Reincarnation in Herne Bay by 691 Productions, best set was JJFrost in July 92 and imo 92 was the best for tunes before it went silly. I do remember a Production House event somewhere in Sheerness around then too - anyone else go to that? This Mickey Beam is great at selecting great tracks and seamlessly mixing them up for us to enjoy. I found a track the other day I had been looking for for ages - Horsepower by CJ Bolland, more of a techno tune but the rolls are amazing, try Ave Maria by Noyz too.
Literally in the first three seconds I wanted to shout "LET'S GO!" instantly recognizing everybody in the place. Unmistakable! You never disappoint Mickey!!!
fair play for doing great job mixing in to, and out of! - that satin storm tune :) I would never know how to approach that transition! and in general yeah, wicked set! thank you
As a person who went to quite a few raves in the '90 - '93 era, I can tell you in the San Francisco area I never heard terms like "breakbeat hardcore" or "jungle" back then. Initially it was just techno, ambient, or various types of house music (happy house, gay house, vocal house, or acid house). Drum & Bass started getting thrown around in 92-93ish time frame. Whatever you want to call it is totally cool, just saying some of the terms thrown around today weren't used too much back in the day in the rave circles I ran in...appreciate the jams, MickeyBeam75!
This is my best guess: “breakbeat hardcore”, “jungle”, and “drum and bass” came out of the UK primarily (this is not to say that it never cropped up in the states). Considering you were in SF during this time, I would guess the difference in location had something to do with you not hearing those terms as much.
@@deanleyshon6762 Seriously? Lots of raving going on in the city then. DJ Garth relocated from London to San Francisco in the early 90's to join the Wicked Crew. Full moon raves on the beach, A Rave Called Sharon, Come-Unity, lots more. I went to a few that were in warehouses where the Giants play baseball now. Good times!
Yeah, sick as Fk, it’s like “the mash up mix old school by cut up boys” but I did this because it’s true to the basics as you would have heard at the time. Mmm much luv and rave on
