Rip VS Ryan Hart FINALLY EXPLAINED

  • The Bottom Line: This whole tiny bit of fun escalated because RIP lied in front of thousands about being an EVO Champion and I called him out on it, he lied about beating me in London, I called him out on it, simple! No further explanation needed. If you're gonna get on stage and tell lies in front of thousands in an attempt to somehow embarrass someone else, then what do you really expect?
I can't believe he didn't even admit it when I challenged him on it either. At least be honest at that point, come on?! That really annoyed me, then to top it off trying to insult my achievements as well, he was literally asking for trouble. He even lied in the video he made and didn't even say how the whole incident really happened from the very beginning, which is deliberately misleading. Well this is why this video here exists to explain that side of things.
I was indeed a little mean for poking fun about Cuddle Core's pad, but he's a grounded guy with good achievements, I had no idea that would even bother him, but I own that and say sorry if it offended him. He didn't own up to any of his behaviour, he even made a video acting like some innocent victim. The rest of what happened was totally his own demise. At no point should he have started telling lies like that.
Because of how it all ended, people only remember the end; my roast, but remember, watch it again, look at what he said to me, people actually forget that he tried to fully roast me on the desk, he just didn't know who he was dealing with.
THE FACTS: EVO 2009 had no official EVO event, go google the records now! Eventhubs, wikipedia, reddit, whatever, go now, go check it out! Tekken 6 wasn't even released until October 2009 and EVO was in July 2009 so go figure lol.
What ACTUALLY happened at EVO 2009 is, basically Bandai Namco brought the arcade board to the EVO venue so that people could try the game ahead of the upcoming console release. RIP took part in a small exhibition event held at the venue, and the losing player could at any time rejoin the tournament. Did you read that? You could lose in tournament AND THE RE-ENTER AGAIN! THIS is not an EVO TITLE or even a legit tournament! This was just a bit of fun so Namco could promote their upcoming release. RIP knows full well that he is misleading people with that "I'M AN EVO CHAMPION" bullshit information and that's why he got called out. I've even been told the event was invite only.
This video is a breakdown of what actually happened from the very first instance on the desk between me and Rip. I've decided to add some extra details that were missing before. Hopefully this clears up those inaccuracies you've been hearing/reading.
Bandai Namco brought a version of Tekken 6 to EVO 2009 and held a fun exhibition tournament where even if you lost you could re-enter yourself many times. Which makes sense since it was just a promotion event for Bandai Namco, so people could see the game. I hear rumours that this was also invite only, the whole thing sounds like it was just for fun and not to be taken seriously at all.

Damn. I consumed majority of my tekken 7 media from Aris. Knowing Aris is friends with Rip, I was automatically biased, already rooting for Rip. Honestly thought you were an ass back then, but now knowing context on what happened, it was a whole 180.
I truly respect your Kazuya so much because of your sheer execution and talent using him, even though I thought you had a bad attitude. Now, knowing the backstory greatly emphasized that respect.

3:20, ok to be fair, what it basically is is that you did start it, but u just didn't anticipate how RIP would take it. even though it was grade school level, a non-factual jab can still hurt. the way he came back at you (factually) was likely because it actually hurt him, and he could only respond with facts (rather than creativity) on the spot. this means that even though your diss towards him was silly to you, u actually hurt him.
so the 2nd time, u mean u did it to get back at RIP? i hope not man. the first time was an indicator that he didn't appreciate the jabs. if u weren't serious the first time, but u were serious the 2nd time, then i think you should've known better. in this scenario, it means both of you were immature, but u unintentionally underestimated the impact of your silly diss.
if RIP was actually hurt by the first diss, his factual response is natural. u should've taken it instead of thinking that he made some calculations to factually discredit you. it was because u caught him by surprise that he used facts since it's the quickest response to come.
rather than take offense to his response, u should've just taken it like a man, recognizing that your silly jab asked for it. if u did it again, of course the same response will likely come again (which it did). and the 2nd time, u were even harsher. i'm pretty sure both times, rip was caught by surprise, even though to you, u were just getting back at rip. to rip, he was likely caught off guard both times.
in other words, what rip did both times was make a spontaneous comeback. what u did both times was to jab at rip. think about it man. u ended up benefiting from it all as well, because you beat rip in the FT10 as well.
you should've taken his first comeback like a man and just recognized that he made a comeback and u deserved it with your silly diss. instead, u weighted your diss against his comeback and decided to get him again? come on, man.

I don't remember it as well as I did at the time, but I think Rip did mention he was up for doing a bit more banter later as mentioned in this video but I don't think either person wanted to seriously offend the other at any time. But there did seem to be a natural escalation in the banter from both sides as it progressed. Either way, we're both cool now and have worked together since so we can leave this behind I think.

I actually watched the whole tourney and didn’t even remember that entire part when you guys were talking about cuddle core and etc. I originally thought you were being a tad bit of a bully from watching the mini clips( even though I was still rooting for you lol) but showing that other clip definitely adds much needed context to it. I completely agree 100% it’s kind of like me calling my wife a fat hippo(she’s super skinny) and then she says something like you’re not very strong or in shape anyway. It’s like damn... that’s how we doing this... wow, the context provided in this video was SO necessary. without it, ryan looks like an asshole. yeah, they were both being immature, but i can really empathize after watching this video that his comment wasn't out of the blue. the one part i disagree with is how 'everyone knows that RIP doesn't lose first round at tournaments.' I don't think that's true. There are plenty of new fans that have no idea how well he did at EVO 10 years ago.

    • @RyanHartTV
      @RyanHartTV  4 года назад +2

Yea, I mean but no known player loses first round every tournament so it's 100% obvious that's untrue. He places high at his local every week. Also it's obvious I'd never be mean like that since I have never done that in 25 years so I wouldn't randomly start now. Lol but yea, it's kinda like saying an expert doesn't know the buttons or something, an obvious joke. In any case thanks for taking the time to watch this video and understand the whole story. seems rip has fallen foul of his insecurities there. i can't hate too much on the guy because i have my moments like that too... where your imagination runs wild and you think people are disrespecting you when they really aren't. it was entertaining to watch and it's one of those classic moments. i'm not sure where rip was going with ryan hart though. because, after all, ryan hart is on another level... i mean... a serial multi game champion. the trophies speak for themselves. rip can't compete with that, why is he trying? i hope rip and ryan hart have been able to bury the hatchet in the years that have passed since. our human ego is something we all have to battle with, that's the real raging demon.

  • @fcukausername

lol you def started it (twice). how "harmless" a dig/insult is, is completely subjective. you say "that's your claim to fame" was harmless and it was obvious to everyone that it wasn't true, but what if that's something Rip was actually insecure about and he wished he had more recognition in the community? Same with the comment about Rip losing the first round every match.
in my opinion you guys were "even" when Rip fired back in the very beginning and you should've just said touché and kept commentating.
but props for ending the video on a positive note regarding Rip.
