This is a great metaphor for real life. If you get rid of the recycle bins, people will start littering everywhere, and it eventually becomes so littered that a ton of recycle bins need to be installed to accommodate it, leaving you with way more recycle bins than you would've had if you just kept them in the first place.
Windows littering almost sounded like a real thing, but then when the recycle bins started popping up out of nowhere on the desktop I knew it was an april fools. Nice one!

This is exactly the kind of video that keeps me up until 3 am even if it doesn't end up being what I expected and I wonder why I even wanted to know in the morning
3:46 At this minute with the focus on the flooded desktop, the dark music and how the PC crashed, it really started to feel like a horror sentient story. It didn't help that Windows actually became sentient when FlyTech attempted to delete stuff.
In this alternate universe, the Recycle Bin keeps the whole world intact and if anyone messes with it, reality collapses in on itself until nothing remains but a dark, lifeless void
😂 What’s even funnier is that the first part of the video where Windows randomly dumps files is genuinely realistic, seeing how much of a mess the file system already is. Fooled me!
my reactions at the start: huh i didn't know explorer had a flag called "/danger" second part: why would the files go to random places? still could be real though third part: okay this is definitely fake, there's no way there could be a recycle bin pandemic in windows
Windows: *Doesn't find a recycle bin* Windows: *Let's just throw it in the floor, noone cares really lmaoo* Me when I noticed it: *Let's just delete the C: drive!*
I'm watching this a month and a half in advance and only thought about the possibility of it being an April Fools joke until after it crashes and the message about "obtaining a recycling bin" starting appearing. This got me so good that I fell for it way after the video was released. This is the first time I've watched it, by the way.
when I was young, like 7 years old, I tried to delete Recycle Bin by making a shortcut of it and putting the shortcut in the Recycle Bin, then emptying it now when I think of it, it's actually smart but also not working 😂
You can do that in Vista. In Vista if you right click Recycle Bin and click create shortcut, then move the Recycle Bin into the shortcut, you can empty that one and then delete it. You can also just right click Recycle Bin itself and click delete, but the other way is much funnier. Vista doesn't care lol
Its $Recycle.Bin, a hidden folder on the root of any drive the Bin is enabled for. Though, if you delete it Windows just makes a new one next time it gets a chance
If you deleted the "Recycle Bin" on your computer, it will automatically grow out legs and find the nearest recycle bin or trashcan Sometimes, it will disappear like magic if you delete the Recycle Bin, no one didn't steal your computer, or anyone touches your computer, your computer disappears all itself
a question I always had is: if there is no recycle bin to delete the recycle bin, so how the recycle bin was cleaned to delete the recycle bin. I think it appears in itself so when cleaned it deletes itself. or is it "thrown on the floor"?
This is like a psychological horror game where you kill a self-aware character, and then find references to them scattered over your computer, reminding you of your mistake. If this doesn't exist, someone do it.
You can actually delete the Recycle Bin on the latest version of Windows. 1 - Open Settings. 2 - Go to Personalization > Themes > Desktop icon settings. 3 - Uncheck the Recycle Bin. 4 - Select “Apply”. But good April fools! Took me a while to realize 😅
1) you can easily hide the bin from desktop via tweaker or registry edit 2) you can disable binning files in explorer through recycle bin properties - DEL will permanently delete files then 3) you can delete recycle bin folder. It will be recreated, unless you place a file with same name. In that case attempts to bin files will fail and Windows typically suggests deleting them permanently instead. This is particularly useful on flash drives that have limited size - you may accidentally delete a large file which will still take space in the bin. This may lead to errors in some programs but combined with option 2 is not that problematic.
