- Sam Raimi went through a lot when making Spider-Man 3. This is the finale, the almost perfect finale to the HiTop Films Spider-Man Series. The last HiTop Films Spider-Man Video. If you haven’t watched Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man - The Perfect Origin (Part 1) or Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man 2 - The Perfect Superhero Movie (Part 2), I recommend watching those before you watch Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man 3 - The Almost Perfect Finale (Part 3). The Raimi Trilogy made me the (boy) man I am today. Thank you Sam Raimi, thank you to everyone involved with making the trilogy, and thank YOU for watching.

Harry said he would give his life for his friends , and did so.
I loved Spiderman 3.
I just cried like a bitch when Peter apologized to Harry, and Harry told him that none of the wrongs he did mattered. I wasn't prepared for that, and I have no idea why that hit me so hard lol.
His death still fucking sucked ass. They killed him off in one of the worst fucking movies imaginable
I hate the fact that Raimi blames himself for Sony’s mistakes
@Platinum The Masculinity I hate that idiots told Sam Raimi they hate him for Spider-Man 3 like the movie was bad or something.
It is "NOT" Raimi's fault in anyway, he did all he could and had too much to handle with other things aside from making the movie.
MynameisnotJ J did u not watch the video? Sony and Avi Arad forced him to add venom to the film
Avi Arad is our enemy.
Raimi was given a script and was forced to use Green Goblin in one and Doc Ock in two. He was then forced to do Venom in three because we fans do love Venom. It is Raimi's fault he made him suck and cast him wrong. Getting mad at Avi for telling Raimi to use Venom is like getting made at a pizza store owner for telling his chief to buy plenty of pepperoni for the store because people love pepperoni. And when the manager orders crappy pepperoni and barely puts any on the pizza, you'd have us blame the owner for making the chief use those ingredients. Good for Avi who stuck up for the fans and wanted to bring us Venom, shame on Raimi for miscasting him, writing him poorly, barely giving him screen time, and making him suck.
You people want to give Raimi a pass and it's bullshit.
Never seen a RUclipsr empathize with behind the scenes like this. Everyone just attacks films and directors. Very original and amazing.

I love how that guy calls the new movies "brilliant but lazy". So spot on !
When you think about it its also really but REALLY true
Its quite true and sad as well. Marvel really had the chance to make their definitive take on Spider-Man and they just butchered it, imo. The movies are fun but they never really feel like authentic Spider-Man films. The writers just completely misunderstood what Spider-Man is all about, they removed the essence, the spirit of the character. By making Peter's development so intrinsically attached to Iron Man, they stripped him of his agency and independence. His economic struggles have also been erased, in favour of fancy suits from Stark. Aunt May is just a male fantasy in these films and the most important supporting characters like Mary Jane Watson, Harry Osborn, Betty Brant etc have been completely changed or turned into comic relief.

I'm glad you mentioned the symbiote being a metaphor for substance abuse. It was something I never thought about as a kid of course, but when I got older and went through my own trials with addiction, it really connected with me all these years later. I'm glad it was included, I just wish it was specific to Spiderman/Peter, THEN maybe Eddie in the possible 4th movie.
"You'll get your rent when you fix this damn door!" but then the landlord says "he's...good boy". the landlord doesn't shout back at peter or kicks him out, rather he still remembers how good peter is, and doesn't get mad at him, and realizes that peter was just having a bad day. something about the way he said that just hit home with me, he still believes peter is a good person.
That landlord and his daughter might just be the emotional crutch of the films. Even over MJ IMO
Forgiveness theme 10/10
This was so profound... I cried.... I actually made sobbing noises. I couldn't help it. This is what Spiderman stands for. Thank you for this video.
Same here, made me think of my whole life and my upbringing, when this came out. Very emotional indeed, Hitop you´re the man! Thanks for the time and effort making this!
I think if they had just saved Venom to be the main villain for 4, the film could have been perfect. Peter could have discovered the symbiote in 3, used it against Sandman to get revenge, and then used it against Harry--scarring his face like he did in the actual film. However, upon seeing his friend permanently disfigured due to his actions, he realizes that the suit has blinded him with rage, just as Harry was blinded with rage by the death of his father. Peter would then get rid of the suit, and have one more fight with Harry, before helping Harry realize the truth: regardless of what they have put each other through, they are still best friends, and vengeance is not the way to solve their problems in life. By that point, they could bring Sandman down together, or maybe Harry sacrifices himself in some way, or maybe (still hearing the Goblin in his head), Harry decides to enter a psychiatric hospital to heal his mind so he'll no longer be a danger to Peter or anyone else. The film could then show the symbiote attaching itself to Eddie's clothing, while Peter and MJ dance and decide to mend their relationship, like in the actual film.
Wow that was brilliant
That would add a lot of hype for the fourth film, too!
Excellent
And boom just like you just fixed Spider-Man 3
Sam Raimi actually considered making the film a two-parter with Venom being teased at the end of 3 but Avi Arad wouldn't allow it.

What a beautiful story this was, watching Peter wound those he loved the most and then look into the mirror and face the ugly face that he saw in it, and then have the humility to forgive himself, and fight to make right his wrongs. After his dearest friend forgives him and gives his life for him, he gains the perspective and humility to look Sandman in the eyes and realize that he is no better than this man that he hated, and forgives him courageously. You've done a fantastic job analyzing this movie that I loved as a boy, and love even moreso as a man. Great work, and God bless you.

The past 3 Mondays I've watched these movies at a local theater. Watching them as an adult brought me back to a different time but also reminded me that i don't have to leave those feelings in that time
My favorite line from the Raimi Trilogy is from Spider-Man 3 when aunt May says”You do the most hardest thing...You forgive” that line will forever define what I’m trying to be and what we are meant to be.
From someone who had a rough childhood where I had everything I want except for love. This was the movies or trilogy that made me feel like I can always do what’s right, to be the absolute best that I can possibly be. No matter what flaws the movies has doesn’t matter. This movie is what makes me human.
Remember that every single person that is here alive living has a spark in them and it’s amazing. And once they find it and cherish it. They will be great at it.

One thing I appreciate about Spider-Man 3 is that it starts with Spider-Man swinging through New York and ends with Peter Parker, rather than vice versa like the previous two films, to remind us that this is the story of Spidey's fall and Peter's rise
A beautiful tribute to these incredible films and the humble genius of Sam Raimi. Sure, Spider-Man 3 isn't perfect, but we all know why. Sam gifted us with three incredible films that took the superhero genre into the next phase, and without him and the rest of the crew and cast, the superhero movie boom we're in right now wouldn't be what it is.
At least Raimi always reminded us that there's a human behind the superhuman element.
If you think that I’m going to watch a 50 minute video on Rami’s Spider-Man 3...
Then you are absolutely right!
I love the Spider-Man trilogy and honestly the only problem I have with #3 is the second hand embarrassment it brings haha.
These videos of yours have made me really emotional and nostalgic for them!
I loved Spiderman 3. It's severely underrated in my view.
I wish we had spider man 4...
I still pray for it all these years later
I n e e d s p i d e r m a n 4.
I really really hope Sam Raimi sees this. I got choked up at the end because I related to the testimonies so hard 🤧
"This is balls on a filmmaker."
If you know, you know.
"And years later, they'll tell how they stood in the rain for hours just to get a glimpse of the one who taught them how to hold on a second longer"
I love it when Peter narrates in the old movies and makes you feel like he's talking to YOU, trying to make YOU a better person. I miss that in the newer ones. They are mostly about spectacle and the dialogue is less personally impactful. Most of it is played for laughs which is cool but, it makes the new Spiderman feel very shallow. Tom Holland is great, don't get me wrong, I blame the script for how the character is treated, not Tom. Tom does what he's told and he does it well, but his Peter going on 2 movies now, is still a dumb kid. Tobey's Peter was a good man in the making, constantly growing as a character and then imparting his wisdom onto the audience. Another great thing about the old movies is the romance. It's mature and brutally realistic. The romance in the new movies is childish and awkward, and lacks depth. It's disappointing that kids now will grow up with a Spiderman who is shallow and only about entertainment value and cool fight scenes and not about what it means to be a hero, what it means to be human, what it means to grow up and be responsible and what it means to learn from your mistakes. Because THATS what makes you a man... learning from your mistakes. Anyways great fucking video, I loved watching someone else appreciate something I appreciate and it was very well done! You made a lot of great points and I hope more people look back on Spiderman 3 with fondness instead of disgust. Sam Raimi tried his best and he gave us 2 masterpieces and a really decent third movie/finale.
Too true, brother. "It's our choices that make us who we are, and we can always choose to do what's right."
While I like all these films don't let nostalgia get to you. Sometimes these films have...a bit too silly moments(Always a risk in lighthearted films involving super heroes). Having said all that, considering they redid Spider-man twice, I think they had to do something different or else people might not care. I think thats very superficial of people but yeah. Someone even told me long ago "With Great Power comes great responsibility" is a cheesy line.
Yeah to them I say.... it applies to Tom Holland's Spider-man just as much but hey.. cheesy line right >.>
Wow, well said. 👏👏👏
Tobey is a great narrator
*Excelsior*
Love how when talking about Ben's killer you said "father" instead of "uncle".
Maybe that was intentional
Spider-Man 2002 Peter: "I have a father, his name was Ben Parker."
36:10 I'd they started pulling clips of them being friends like that, clips of the first film with the music playing. That would bring a tear.😢
HiTop's Holy Trilogy for the Raimi's Holy Trilogy
We need a Snyder’s Cut version of Spider-Man 3 “The Raimi Cut”
100 👍if you agree
That’s a fact
There may not be a "Raimi Cut" per se, but there is an Editor's Cut....however it's not that great.
100% dude
Bruh maybe a terrible idea but lets give it a try
We need a Spider-Man 4!
37:07 Also, I realized that In the begining of Spider-Man 3, MJ is singing about How falling in love is "Wonderful", whereas in the ending, she sings that she can't stand love.
It may be easy to hate on but I think I lot of people are coming back around to liking it again after all the emotionless corporate sanitized series of movies, campy or not these movies are true cinema
It’s sad how we will probably never have emotional connection with the MCU spidey compared with Rami’s.
I've seen these 2 fanbases go at each other for the longest time. I would like to suggest a compromise. How about the next Holland spider man movie be directed by sam raimi, it gives both what they want, Holland fangirls are satisfied they get to drool over him. And spiderman fans get to see a director who truly loves spiderman put in charge. Sam has more than proven himself. I wonder what he could do with a Disney budget, and holland
Stanford Tennyson It’s too late for that. Idk how any real character development is going to happen after using him as fan girl material.
Stanford Tennyson But I’d like to see rami take on this challenge with such a great director he is.
Stanford Tennyson And considering how they got Raimi to direct Doctor Strange 2, something like this is very possible.
Tom Holland has too many fan girls. I just want a Spider-Man like the one in the PS4 game
Those saying that this movie is bad, simply didn't take the time to analyse it. This film is not bad by any stretch of the imagination. In fact it's really good. And I still get angry thinking about people who have said to Sam raimi "We hate you" because it's not Sam's fault, don't blame Sam, blame the studios who interfered. I will always love Sam raimi as a film maker, absolute legend.
No DON'T blame the studios because this whole analysis video was about how adding the symbiote was the right choice. But this whole section teems with sheep who don't even watch the video they comment on or don't care that they can't form opinions, only parrot popular memes.
You shouldn't imagine that mythed "studio interference" like Raimi had a perfectly good film completed and then someone came in to meddle with it just to be evil. He was "forced" to use Goblin and Doc Oc too. Venom was insanely popular and adding him DID boost the movie's popularity, not to mention it worked for the story (which again IS WHAt tHIS WHOLE VIDEO IS SAYING DID U EVEN WAtCH). If you want to argue that Venom was miscast and badly written because he's not a beefcake convict that's 100% on Raimi and NOt the studio! Stop giving Raimi a break! But the video (again...) actually argues that Raimi's version DOES work for the story.
@@whade62000 Wow you are all over the place. I watched the video like 20 times by now. And I'm pretty sure YOU are wrong, it is the studios fault. I've actually researched this stuff. Sam did nothing wrong man. "Stop giving the studios a break" seems more appropriate.
Actually, even if you analyze objectively this movie still can't keep up with the previous movies which set the bar too high. The argument was amazing, well written dialogues, the interpretation made by the whole cast was amazing, good villains and the use of symbolysms and visual resources were top tier. This movie just isnt not even the half the previous two movies were, and I do love the movie, this just shows how a mastermind like Raimi cant work well if there's a big company putting pressure on you and not letting you be free of taking decisions on how directing your film. Pretty sad tbh. However, the movie itself has also good scenes but overall it's pretty weak.
I think this is the best movie ❤️
Sam raimi directed it great and the production isn’t bad but the story is cheap and on the nose and doesn’t age well but still entertaining especially cuz your engaged with the characters but it’s definitely the worst of the trilogy
I like how the black suit/Venom isn’t just a representation of Peter’s inner darkness, it’s an sentient being who’s clingy and needy and insecure and wants someone to be with, but since it only knows how to take, he’s just too toxic and fails
Honestly, for the situation Raime was put in he did pretty damn good
I didn't grow up with the raimi trilogy, I liked Andrew garfields movie's more then SM Homecoming,
But hell this shit was crazy and I loved it.
HiTop -
I don't comment on RUclips videos a lot. Like them even rarer. I never cry at them. But this past year has been a reminder of how much I loved Spider-man as a character and the work and dedication you've put into this trilogy of reviews/essays/whatever you want to call them is the perfect capstone to this resurgence of the character, the culture, and the reminder that behind the mask we put on outwardly we are all human on the inside. That behind all the classes, essays, exams, papers, ex-girlfriends, music, and anger I am human as well. Thank you so much for making these videos.
Finally an video where someone doesn’t make spider man 3 seem like an fuckfest
It's a good film and a good spiderman film
It's brilliant but convoluted
Probably my favourite movie for the reasons you mention.
Seeing Peter struggle with the most human emotions and the persevering/reborn friendship with Harry is unbelievably beautiful. Super hero movies today just don't touch the same emotional strings the way this movie did
"No body's perfect, everybody struggles, everyone falls, and everyone gives in to their demons...even Spider-Man"
Watching these movies again feels like a memory journey and watching this video feels like you're adding flavors to that memory trip, thank you for making this video
Peter talking to himself during the dinner scene always made me laugh. So full of himself.
