    Not many people here seem to know the rules.
    Kick-ins are not a stat unless you play on.
    Back in the day to play on you had to kick it to yourself (not a stat) then the second kick was now a stat.
    Now though the person on the mark is further back. They need to stand. Plus the player only needs to leave the defensive goalsquare to play on.
    These changes mean there are more "play on" kick-ins so therefore more stats.

    what do we need to do for kane to realise richmond aren’t a joke yet? first round was horror ill give you that… played a better game than carlton, just got beaten down by 3 first half injuries and very poor umpiring. was 7 points within port at 3qt with our lowest pressure rating since 2015 and with like 10 players under 50 games and even more heinous umpiring… we did give up in the last tho which was awful. but then beat sydney with 10 players under 50 games again and umpiring that slightly favoured sydney. and he’s talking about west coast beating us. things would need to go awfully wrong for us to lose that…

    Some kick-ins ARE meaningless (chipping it 15m to the back pocket), but others are high-risk penetrating kicks that hit a teammate on the 50 arc and start a chain of disposals that lead to a brilliant team goal. Great kick-in takers are a real weapon. And if they're so unworthy of being put down as a disposal, then what about when players chip the ball around at certain points of the game to waste time? I'd argue those uncontested kicks and marks are just as "unworthy" as kick-ins. Kane's just chatting shit as always

    the fact that vlastuin being there with stewart is even a question in anyone’s mind is so indicative of how richmond are looked at by everyone else. vlastuin has done what stewart has done for the exact same amount of time but the difference is, vlastuin has always had to defend someone at the same time. if vlastuin was just told to play as the 7th defender every game and to do what he likes he’d have broken the 10 intercept mark record years ago. anyone who watched the 2020 grand final documentary thing which showed the 2 coaches box’s knows the difference between stewart and vlastuin. vlastuin got injured so he’s kinda irrelevant in this point but stewart was killing us up to half time playing as a wide open “nude” as dimma called him. all that happened was dimma realised the impact and that it’d be the difference and just addressed it and stewart was nonexistent… all it takes is one good coach with good enough players and stewart will be useless…

    • @alborzajeli768
      @alborzajeli768 2 месяца назад +1

      What a genius you are! It’s clear based on this simple analysis that dealing with Stewart is as simple as putting someone on him. I’m certain other professional and experienced AFL coaches have all failed to try this simple strategy and you’re the genius who has cracked the code 😂 funny that throughout his 151 career to date, Stewart has been “shut down” literally a handful of times. Pretty sure every coach goes in with a plan like this and it rarely ever works, because Stewart is an absolute gun! Not only that, but if you ever bother to watch Geelong games rather than highlights, you’d notice he also stays accountable and keeps his opponents quiet. That 2020 GF turnaround was more due to the pressure the Tigers brought in the second half and Geelong’s controlled game plan completely falling apart, rather than just putting someone on Stewart to shut him down. The difference between Stewart and vlastuin is that even when surrounded by an incompetent defence, Stewart still shines (like last year’s AA in a shambles defence). Where’s vlastuin been since Richmond’s drop off? I’ll tell you where, failing like the rest of his teammates. He was only good when he had a good team and system around him. Without that he’s nothing special, as proven by his ZERO AA’s so far. Comparing them is laughable at best, and outright delusional at worst.

      The issue with score involvements is that it relies on the good work and talent of players forward of your possession. Therefore score involvements, while a useful impact concept, aren't the only useful impact concept.
      Furthermore the roos are missing a mobile tall at centre half forward, so that often means two or three more possessions in a scoring chain. This decreases the likelihood that Powell would get a score involvement, given he is typically the first or second possession.
