Gravity Guy: Flash vs HTML5 (Miniclip)

When I recently returned to Miniclip.com to check up on Gravity Guy, I was surprised at what I saw. I don't think the original game works in Ruffle, so it's not unexpected that they'd want to replace it with an HTML5 release, but this is more than just a bad port.
This build is nothing like the original. Different levels, music and graphics. I'm not thinking of Gravity Guy 2 - that's a different experience entirely. As you can see from the credits, this was made from scratch by a smaller team.
Completely replacing the original work, combined with Gravity Guy's removal from the app stores, makes me question if there was some kind of dispute over the original assets. All that seems to be carried over is sound effects and the concept itself. Very strange indeed.
It should be pretty obvious from this video which version is objectively superior. It's disappointing to see Gravity Guy replaced with what is blatant knock-off quality. Fortunately, both APKs and SWFs are pretty easy to find and load up.

"Gravity Guy SWF" is the easiest search term. You can combine flashstorage.games/download/gravity-guy with archive.org/details/adobe-flash-player-projector

Man the HTML5 version looks genuinely horrible 😂 Wonder why they couldn't have just re-released the original.
Will say though, the special platforms added in to the HTML5 version are neat!
