- Episode 12 of my SOBO thru hike of the Pacific Crest Trail takes me across 178 miles to the end of the Northern California section of the PCT. The NorCal section has been phenomenal and I have loved it so much! In this episode I experience stunning sunsets, extremely windy nights, epic alpine lakes, and more!
What a section this was! I am so excited I get to share all of the ups and downs with you. The hardest part of my hike during this section was definitely the windy and cold nights. It is very hard to hike ~25 miles in a day after barely sleeping. My mood is definitely lowered because of it, but thankfully the views bring all of the joy back!
I really hope you enjoy Episode 12 as I hike from Quincy to South Lake Tahoe on the Pacific Crest Trail! :)

I'm so grateful you are taking us along the way 'with you'. Thank you for the thoughtful commentary and beautiful views.
You are so inspiring Krysta, the fact that you push through and come back after a difficult section is quite amazing. It makes me wonder if I have it in me like you do, but you give me hope I can do this too. So nice that you got to see your parents too.
Hi Krysta. Looks very hard without proper sleep but also very beautiful. Greetings from Switzerland, Benjamin
You are now hiking through some of the the shorter hikes I have taken on the PCT. Thanks for showing me this special friend again
I have enjoyed your videos so much!! Thank you for your vulnerability and intentionality 💕
Another great video. You could review your dehydrated food if you are looking for video ideas. What didn't work? What did?I watched your video on making it, then in this series, you mentioned some of the meals didn't work out so well? Pesto?? Thanks for your videos.
Glad you liked the video! Thanks for the ideas :) Ya, the pesto pasta did not work out this season.
I can only imagine how those feelings of wanting to quit can creep in - especially when you're exhausted. Thank you for persevering, Krista, and sharing your journey. I was telling my son about your channel. He and his wife (my daughter-in-law💗) have hiked several parks on the west coast, including sections of the PCT. He said they would occasionally meet through-hikes. They were both in aw of the determination and grit you through-hikers have. #trailgirlsrock !!! 💪💗 👏👏👏
I have been loving this series! So fun, this is a hike I would LOVE to do in the future! Amazing job!
You entered the Sierra when you crossed the Feather River at Benton.
So beautiful, Krysta! I’m so happy that you didn’t stop your hike and that you met up with your parents! There’s really nothing better and thank you so much for taking us along🤍
Your videos are just so good. I look forward to each one. Thank you Krysta!
Amazing job crushing the miles!
So nice and honest this one. I can feel your emotions, even if it sounds silly. Well done Krista.
I'm going to eat more to carry less. 😅 It's a Charming thought but that's not quite how that works unless you're having a BM at the same time. 😂😊😂
This episode was especially fun for me. I live close to this area so I recognized a lot of the lakes, peaks, and views. Thanks!!
Thank you for showing me the beautiful places that I will never get to see otherwise. So beautiful it made me cry.😂
Your such an inspiration, love when u post keeps my dream of thru hiking a reality.
fun video. Glad you didn’t give up. Must be hard in the wind.
Love your honesty and how you pushed through the wind, another great video!!!
Another lovely video! Hyped for the Sierras 🥳
