Whenever in Hurghada, use ABC taxis, you whatsapp them, tell them where you want to go, ask how much, they give you a price (10 mins to marina, 100egp), that price is confirmed on whatsapp and thst is the price you pay, no dodgu drivers changing the price, and they message you with a picture of the car when it arrives to pick you up
Just finished my holiday in Hurghada and it was very dissapointing for me to be honest. The food and the sea was amazing, but everything else around it was terrible. We couldn't walk 5 minutes on the streets without be disturbed by any random scammers, in the restaurants we keep had to check the invoices cause they always charged something "extra", many times has happened. The taxi situation was terrible, happened the same with us, like with the girls here. I felt everywere they just want my money and nothing else. I would like this country cause it's really beautiful and full with historical places, but with this attitude everywhere is unacceptable for me.
I hope you still managed to have good time here despite all the sleazy drivers and salesmen, it's very annoying for locals too. I thought Uber saved us from all the off-putting negotiations. Cheers

Welcome in Egypt! It's not illegal to be a couple for you in Egypt, nor even it is illegal for men, but they just get harassed by police and by society (not by law)
