    just a tip: when you are stretching fabric or canvas, you should start in the center (doesn't matter which side) put in 3 staples then go to the opposite side and apply 3 staples and then do the sides. This will stretch the material without wrinkles and is easier to finish off the corners.

    I REALLY love this idea! I'm currently putting ideas away in my treasure chest for when I purchase my home and this is a great one! Add a few more and it can look as though you've purchased an expensive collection! Thanks for your wonderful DIY projects!

      You're right! It would be cool to get some coordinating fabrics and make it look like a collection. Especially if it picks up colors in the room! :)

      I love that the fabric matches your shirt 😍
      I use the idea on an empty frame after my mirror broke. 🪞

    Hi Serena, the frame picture looks fantastic.The colors really make the wall pop. By the way the fabric on your wall matches ur blouse. Very pretty.

    Oh Wow! I like this...it turned out beautiful. I took and did this a few months ago only it was the opposite way. I removed the art work and used mirror spray on the glass.

    • @ThriftDiving
      @ThriftDiving  7 лет назад +1

      Great idea! Did it really make a good mirror that you could actually use?

    • @DesignOnADimeKwok
      @DesignOnADimeKwok 7 лет назад +1

      Yes it did. I was pleasantly surprised as that was my first time using the mirror spray product.

      Thrift Diving well we had plans to move the end of last month but we live in Houston so the place we were looking to move to completely flooded after Harvey so we're waiting for another spot to open up hopefully in a higher floor this time lol

    that was pretty simple and very pretty. Not sure if you have made a video on tools( I heard you mention jigsaw video) but could you make a video on what supplies are best to have and what each does, for being a Thrifter that revamps items? I love thrift store shopping and I am one of those people that can look at an items and see potential. But I live in an apartment, and only have a tool bag with standard tools. I have a patio and a storage closet so I can add more tools, just not sure what best to have. thank you for sharing

    • @ThriftDiving
      @ThriftDiving  7 лет назад

      Great idea! Yep, I'll definitely do a video on that! :)

    When you stretch material as canvas or fabric it is best to stretch it and staple opposite sides such as top and bottom and then right to left instead of going in a circular motion. Otherwise the material will crease.

    I wound up here on your video because I make diy pictures using a picture frame and Fleece or Felt fabric but accidentally ordered Quilting fabric this time. I wanted to do Galaxy theme in my living room and whatever fabric is left over I will fold up as Galaxy throw pillows for my couch. I also have sheer purple and sheer black curtains for my 2 windows. Wish me Luck. I think Quilting fabric is that Thin stuff. Because of the White stars I have some White Fleece fabric Left over that I can place behind it so that the fabric Don't slide. Plus the frame has cardboard that comes with it.

    • @ThriftDiving
      @ThriftDiving  3 года назад

      Good luck on your project! And you're right--quilting fabric definitely seems much thinner.

    • @karenrobinson2007
      @karenrobinson2007 3 года назад

      @@ThriftDiving it came out awesome...I ended up Only using my Sheer Black curtains though because the Sheer Purple was taking away from the Outer Space Galaxy theme. So happy. I keep the curtains pulled to each side of both windows because I'm scared of the Dark. I'm using Black now so don't wanna get spooked. Hehehehe. Looks really, really Cool plus I have plenty of lighting from outside that shines through and my led night light bounces off my living room walls like a Bluish. Gonna take some Purple felt and make a Tiny Purple pillow to sit next to the Galaxy theme one.

    I can use this method, but use cork instead of materials. Thanks for sharing.

    • @ThriftDiving
      @ThriftDiving  7 лет назад

      Yes, it will work perfectly with cork. I still need to do one with cork, too. The kids have too many papers that need organized and the fridge can only hold but so much. :)

    Do you think I could use a piece of cardboard instead of wood? I would have no way to cut the wood 🙁

    • @ThriftDiving

      LOL....Because if I were on TV, I'd become too famous, and who wants to be recognized wherever you go? You wouldn't be able to scratch your butt in public without it ending up on TMZ. Soooo....I guess I'll stick with my little corner space of RUclips. LOL!

      I know, right!! I don't think I have ever paid that much for fabric! But I couldn't walk away from this one. It was sooooo pretty! I'd like to see if I can get a discount to get some to reupholster a thrifted wing back chair with it. YIKES! lol. Imagine that cost!
