I own one and I really like it. When you collect Rolex watches $400 or $500 dollars more is lunch money. Who cares buy what you like, wear and enjoy it.
Definitely buy what you like. In my opinion I like datejusts overall over GMTs which most people find unusual. True, 400-500 will be recovered from the price increase this month… but I can’t see their justification..it would be like me paying the AD more for a Pepsi over a Batman…. It can be justified in many ways but at face value it can’t and why Rolex charge the same price for it.. so why charge more for this. Enjoy your watch, it’s a great talking piece!
the crystal i believe is different. theres a laser-etched crown etched at 6 o clock that if they used the original 12710 crystal would be at 12 o clock pointing downwards. thats not the case for the sprite, the crown is etched at 6. from a material and manufacturing standpoint, i understand that its not worth paying extra. from a feature perspective, it does make sense. the default config is right handed. if you want the less common lhd config, you pay 450 extra. and in the gray market, its completely irrelevant because the pepsi and bruce wayne is still the most expensive, then the sprite, then the batman/batgirl.
You are absolutely correct. Hype drives people crazy… I will only overpay for something that has been phase out (can’t get it anymore in Rolex catalog ) or something really produced in small quantities. That’s the reason I only overpay for the Rolex Sea dweller 116600 - SD4K
I actually hated this watch when it first came out but once I actually seen it in person I fell I love with the green bezel we all know Rolex green bezels are the best ❤😂 and actually wearing the watch on the left hand with the crown not digging into the back of your hand makes it more comfy to wear personally I think its more rare and unique less people wear it makes it even better
Hahah agree with crown digging in as you can see happens on my hand, I have tightened the bracelet as a result but I just can’t wear it too tight! I’ve seen this watch in person and worn it… just not for me. If money was endless I would buy it on an oyster, but don’t feel I’m missing out. My new watch reveal coming soon is not a GMT but I would take this any day over the Sprite although many would disagree.. watch this space
1.) But then why charge extra? 2.) I agree why over complicate matters provided there is no compromise, as we expect perfection from Rolex. I would expect a mirror image mechanism not upside down, their reputation is based on perfect execution. A date calendar turn from bottom to top is not a perfect execution….if this was executed the price difference would be justified.
Of course that's what they've done, but they had to do some tooling to test it. Yes it's £450 more..... But it's currently trading £5k - £8k more in the secondary market over the batman and batgirl!!! So that £450 doesn't look that bad!!!
Thanks for the insight… I think if they were released at the same time the BLNR and VTNR would be very similar in price in terms of secondary market. I feel this will happen with time, as their is no hesitancy from the AD to put you on the waitlist for the VTNR. BLNR and BLRO waitlist now is the different scenario and much more difficult. I would expect a better standard if I was paying more but it is literally an upside down watch rather than left handed. The calendar flip shows this and this puts me off. If the calendar flipped downwards I would have appreciated it a little more, a little change but speaks very differently about the whole approach.
@@SILKY_999 at this current time yes, I think if I put my name for both now I would be given the Sprite first… a lot of people are on BLNR after the BLRO limitations
Thanks for doing the research. I love Rolex however they are very lazy and hardly innovate anything . They can innovate if they want to just look Att the sky-dweller. They are making all the money so why create anything new. Not surprised they would just rotate the movement
Totally agree.. if I was a left handed person wearing a LHD watch I would be disappointed in being a given a upside down mechanism… then expect to pay more for it
I just got mine! I love it so idk what you’re talking about.
Enjoy, it’s nice we all like different models

Excellent point, did not think of this… thanks for sharing

@@bullionseconds fair enough taste is subjective so we should all just buy what we like 🙏 do you buy direct from AD or grey market ?
@fanwar4400 Yes nice that we all have different taste as variation between wrists is good! Always from AD…
I thiink its gorgeous and unique 💚
If that's all they had to do to make it left handed then that's all they needed to do.

Great vid. Rolex had to make new dials that had to be printed flipped. I guess thats why it costs 400 more

@@bullionsecondsyou honestly think BLNR is harder to get then a sprite from AD ?

I just got the call yesterday for my Sprite..... That's been over 2 years
Amazing, enjoy that fresh new watch feeling! It is a cool looking watch

Damn, I thought I was the only one who noticed that .. This is exactly why I also do not care for it... Lovely, but not for me ...
