This band is freaking awesome! There Spanglish Danish lyrics are amazing! Bring me back to the 80s! Really cool that they’re from Erie, Pennsylvania! 🤘🏻😉😎
I grew up in the '70's and '80's. Graduated from high school in '88. Didn't hear Dirty Looks until 2011 on Hair Nation. Fell in love instantly. If I had been exposed to Dirty Looks music back in the day, they would have most certainly been my #1 favorite band--they are now!!! RIP HENRIK🎸❤️
I was lucky to have discovered the band In 1985, the line up was different but Henrick is kinda like Lemmy and Dave Mustaine, they are the band! Anyway, I seen them in Erie ,PA where Henrick had grown up. They always put on a top notch show. Later on in my life I got to play in a band that opened for Burning Orange and Chocolate Star Fish , both bands featuring Mr. O before he reformed Dirty Looks. Definitely gone to soon!
Nothing more Erie than cruising the dock in an old jacked up, bondo covered Dodge Dart with a Dirty Looks bumper sticker cranking out Blue Tequila on the Sparkomatic stereo. Ahhhhh the good old 80s. RIP Henrik.
Thank you DIRTY LOOKS for such fu*ckin' great music! I had soooooo many wild times in the 80's while jamming to your sweet tunes. Ahhhhh to go back... but better to have done, than not at all. Live life full throttle. No regrets later. Take no prisoners. Metal forever.
We opened up for Dirty Looks a number of times when they rolled through Utah. Truly a powerful band. So glad I was able to work with, Party with, and just to get to know this man. Still my favorite band. RIP brother!
These guy's played my High School Graduation party at the Sunbury, PA YMCA in June 1987, they were set-up in the Gym and there was only a few people watching them since other events were going on in the building. They were locally well known in the Sunbury/Selinsgrove Area, since "Jumpin" Jack Pyers on Bass lived in the area and came from the band Harpo. I helped them pack up after the show, Jack worked for his father's trash collection business at the time, I would see him often picking up dumpsters in the area back in the day when all of this was going on. When Pyers joined the band, the others including Henrik would rehearse locally, believed Henrik was living in the area, was driving a beat up Chevette I recall? I once saw Henrik at a convenience store and said hello to him and when I walked out I happen to have this cassette in my car and cranked it up when he came out, he had a big ear to ear smile and said "That's me"! I said yeah you guy's are great, he was a nice guy. I saw them play several concerts in the area, Sunbury and Selinsgrove Area. Jack Pyers has short hair now and still live's in the area and released some new music and did some live shows, but the music is Folk/Country acoustic with him singing. Total flipside of his prior work.
Saw them back in '88 after hearing them for the first time in that movie Johnny Be Good. They played an outdoor free concert at New Mexico State University. This was back in my garage band metal days, and man did they make me work harder at wanting to be a rock star! For a free show, they still performed their asses off! Glad I got to see them perform and I bought all their cassettes back then and even had a shirt of theirs!
Wow....I never new Henrick made it, awesome. Sorry to see he passed away. I knew Henrick when he was about 16-17 years old and I was a couple years older. We were at a place called Abraxas at the same time. It was located in an old 1930's-40's New Deal work camp in the middle of the Allegheny National Forest in Marionville Pa.. I was sent there by juvenile court as I'm sure he was too. Anyway, there was a music room at this place. It usually stayed locked, but once in a while we were allowed in. I remember Henrik and me on guitar and another kid played bass. He was a really good guitar player even at that age. He played his own Ovation Breadwinner and I played a Gibson SG owned by the place. We really just thrashed around, I don't want to make it seem like something it wasn't. I eventually bought the Ovation Breadwinner from him. I sold it a couple years later. I never knew he made it after we parted ways because I was never into metal.
Dirty looks really hit pretty hard with the 80s. Not on the large scheme of things but in an Underground Early Metallica kinda way. They didn't get the recognition they should have. "Cool from the wire" and their sound stands the test of time and I would put it up against anything from that era as one of the best cd's ever. The dude was a real talent. I saw them many times in Rochester NY. They demand respect in my opinion. They have a die hard following. A true straight edge dirty nasty rock band! I listen to them still. I would have been honored to have your story. Thanks for sharing.
Awesome story. Seems to be lots of cool stories like this in dirty looks comments section. Such a great band, nothing else comes close. Long live Dirty Looks
I jam evey single day at least one freaking song if not whole dam cd.i got yo jam with them in 93 in dayton,oh.they bummed cigs in exchange for long neck beeers after show .henrick my lost brother even shared the jack with me till sadly empty.started listening in 87 and new his voice and funny ass lyrics usually at end of songs was best.some one please contact me cause i know there has to be a freaking gift he was saving for me to keep and always feel blessed to sit and chat with him and band members.ive got few things off ebay that authentic but i want something like old dirtylooks shirt or something .hope his wife and kids and love ones see his spirit every snd tell him i cant get enough of dirtylooks.until we meet again,NOBODY RIDES FOR FREE. And one verse that makes me laugh from ole henrick is,HERES COMES THE BOOGIEMAN.
had the chance to open up for do at al's cafe the nite they announced they were signed. What a kick ass time an a great nite. just wanted to say miss u bro
Cool seeing all the great comments, I was never lucky enough to meet the man, but I got to see the band at Fiddlestyx about half an hour South East of Willisport Pa just before they went big. I will always be a fan. Thanks for this and keep rocking.
Al's Cafe, Danville was when I first saw Dirty Looks, bought the black shirt with pink letters Dirty Looks and began following the boys then and the great music they produced. I'll miss the sound of new songs arriving regular intervals, always a newness but that great vocals
The one band I would have LOVED to see live, don't ever remember hearing of them in Canada though. Henrik was the most unreal voice I've ever heard. Such a unique sound R.I.P. dude..!!!!!!
@thunderdrumass Thanks man, really appreciate it, had the chance to work with him several time when i was working at the Penny Arcade in Rochester, ny. Stayed in touch with for a few years after that when he got out of music, glad he came back to produce some kick ass music we have come to love as Dirty Looks.

The most underrated band ever, the best rock vocalist ever, the band that plays the soundtrack of my life. I grieve for Henrik to this very day still.
