Excellent, one thing I alwys do is put some pencil shavings in the string slots on the nut. This will help prevent string binding and help with tuning. I just put LaBella Deep Talkin flats on my P Bass and they sound fantastic.
I'm usually using Elixir stainless steel ones on my basses, addicted to the tone of those, sometimes I slap on D'addario Prosteels or DR DDT, got Pyramid heavy set waiting for me to test it out. I like to experiment with strings, the creative process enjoys new sounds :)
Cool video thanks for doing this one Man.... u think flats need to be changed. ??? Mine seem to sound better with time ??? I get the nickel and rounds. ... your thoughts
Flats seem to get better with age and you can get great tone for years - they have a much more focused frequency range which stays consistent, where the rounds have a wider frequency range which noticeably dwindles over time.
Hoping you read my comment. My band plays in C std. Should I use just a normal 4 string pack, just heavier gauge, or use the 4 bottom strings out of a 5 string package and file my nut?
Hey, thanks for your videos! I'm sure you already got that question multiple times but I couldn't find an answer to it: Do you or did you play in any bands and is there material I can listen to? Very interested
Thanks for checking out the video! I play in “Light Creates Shadow” and we just finished recording my first album with the band. It won’t be released for a few months and I will definitely be posting play throughs 🤘
Great neck holder, everybody should own that shirt ;-) Great video, I liked the bending the end of the string before cutting it-tip, Makes a lot of sense. On a side note, how do you like that PRS SE Kestrel? ? I`ve been looking at one and one came up for sale about 20 mls from my place at a relative bargain price. Really curious how you like it! Thanks for all the good work, Jared!
Awesome! The string bend is a great trick :) I love my PRS and would buy the same one in a heartbeat. I made one modification and put Seymour Duncan 1/4 pickups in, just for a little more punch🤘

For C-Standard, I use a 4 pack (55-115) and they work great - plenty of tension and sound awesome🤜🤛🤘
