The pool we had in our school had almost the same depth if not more and a friend of mine pushed me to the bottom like that. I have had intense fear of deep waters throughout my life and to make matters worse at that instant the power went out in our school building leaving me in pitch black darkness as I ran out of breath at the depths of the pool struggling to get back up(the pressure kept pressing me downwards) and the slant of the bottom surface made me slip more towards the deeper end of the pool in the cold pitch black water. I'm getting goosebumps even writing this. I don't know how tf I survived but that gave me real bad ptsd and thallasophobia.

All from stuff to do to help others and stuff we will have to do ourselves when no one else is there to help. From medical to mechanical stuff and being able to help people after an accident. We need our future generations to become smarter than the previous one. Only that way will humanity get better within the years. If youre one of those people who just sinks no matter what, if its only 10ft or so, you can wait until you hit the bottom, and jump. Okay there should be some warnings on this video. 1. This person obviously didn’t have the ability to swim down that deep. And his friends pushed him further than he was able to go himself. Do not EVER do this. Especially if they don’t know to swim VERY well. With one wrong move this guy could’ve been at the bottom of this pool for a long time. Please only do what you know youre capable of. 2. It’s a lot easier said than done to stay calm when you’re running out of oxygen. Instead try to focus on holding your breath in for as long as you can handle the CO2. Although it sucks the air that’s in your lungs is helping you (even if slightly) get back to the surface. Once you breath out it will be SO much harder to swim back up. Especially if you’re already at the point where you ran out of oxygen for your body to use. And 3. Please stay safe and don’t do shit like this. I’ve been swimming for 15 years with experience scuba diving. And I would need some serious prep work before I would want to try this. And I wouldn’t have my stupid ass friend push me down to the bottom if I couldn’t reach it. (I’m sorry that really pisses me off because literally his friend could’ve ended his life with that stupid decision. But anyway) you guys please stay safe around the water. You might think it’s all fun and games until you’re at the bottom of whatever body if whatever you’re in and your body is forcing you to breath in water while you try to reach the surface. Only to sink progressively deeper. Yeah that sounds scary right? Good. Stay safe around water. Please.

If you need to go up fast, force your arms down to your side for initial momentum and float up, I used to be a county swimmer and part of my training was going to the bottom of the pool, collecting items then resurfacing quickly. You don’t become heavier as such when you panic but you run out of air flapping and flapping holds you down

People say "its easier said than done" but its actually much easier to do it than to explain how it works.
Explanation: when deep into the water stand straight like a soldier with your hands down. This will give you a more water dynamic shape that will put the bodys ability to float in much better use. While straight in might take a second for you to gain momentum so to speed up the process flap your feet in a back and forth peaceful and fast(if necessary) motion. More experienced swimmers will also use their hands and whole body to help them reach the surface faster. By doing all this you are sure to hit the surface in no more than ~10 seconds from 7 meters deep so make sure to *STAY CALM* cause there is not reason to stress

Some individuals with the same weight and body type may have different buoyancy one has his eyes or even nose above water by staying vertically still and one might have his head barely breaking the surface. @@alexisvargas7455 yes if your not as buoyant as an average person you have to work harder on your technique to stay afloat. I’m one of those who are not as buoyant and I’m a recreational diver. On our dive course we had our buoyancy test on the ocean and in the pool. In the pool on a lung with full air if I assume an Indian stance sitting position, I sink to the bottom. In the ocean even with a full dive suit which adds to buoyancy, top of my head barely breaks the surface by staying relatively still… in the group me and my son where the sinkers along with one other individual while my wife and daughter are floaters and some where extra buoyant requiring very little effort and hardly much movement to stay afloat. I’m not thick boned like my son but I am still a sinker, it’s just the way I’m built probably having denser bones either thru genetics or adaptation as I’ve been into martial arts since I was a kid and had several minor fractures and bone/joint injuries. The great apes like gorillas, chimps, and orangutans also are sinkers just for trivia.😁

I remember once being in a very similar situation, i was like 11 and me and my cousins were trying to reach the bottom of the deepest part of the pool (mind u, the deepest part was 3,5 meters deep) my cousins were able to reach all the way down (they were also much older and taller than me) and then when i did it i couldnt reach the bottom, i had already emptied most of my lungs to be able to reach all the way down and still failed to do so. The way back was horrible. I had almost no air, i was almost blacking out but i was a good swimmer. I knew i shouldnt waste my energy and let my body mostly float up slowly and use as little energy as possible kicking a bit my feet. I could SEE the surface when i was very close to blacking out, all i remember thinking is “just a bit more and I’ll make it”
I did make it out, didnt black out and my cousins were like “it took u very long to come up we were staring to get worried” 🤡🤡 imagine if i hadnt been able to get out by myself, i’d have drowned for sure lol

If you pump out all the air you start to sink like a rock but even then if you relax and do proper sweeming movements you can get back to surface. I did it many times because it's fun to just lay on the bottom motionless whatever little time you can spend down with no air.
Rule number one. Panic gets you nowhere other then to some accident if there is no one to help you. Stay calm and collected.😊
