Clear thought process! Really enjoyed that, thank you!
I agree 100% and would have done the same for the attempt of preservation of pulp with direct pulp capping on #9, although one thing I would have done differently is even though biodentin is a very good material, and the bonding agent optibond FL is really one of the gold standards, I might have used a self etch system considering the etching + the primer itself's acidic nature in 4th gen bonds, and we are potentially embedding that deep into the cavity, but like you said, we are really not very sure how much bonding we are able to get in that situation, and this may fall off anytime with anything less of a bond, so pick your poison I guess lol. Direct pulp capping is always a hail mary, and having to attempt this really shows how much you care for your patients! Thank you so much for this session, the thought process behind this is beautiful!

Sam W good point! A 6th gen would have had a mild etching effect. Maybe next time!

Dr, Don't we have to reduce the incisal edge ? Because of the symptomatic apical periodontitis ? Btw excellent video series.

I wouldn’t because it messes with esthetics and could commit you to more work down the road. That is not a bad thing to do on posterior teeth but not on anterior teeth.

Is it possible for me to send you an image of my x-ray for tooth #31?
I would like a second opinion before I proceed with what was initially recommended.

Ed As much as I would like to help, as soon as I offer you advice other then “see your dentist”, I have entered a patient-doctor relationship and could be held legally liable. Often, I get many requests to offer a second opinion or advice. This is difficult to do without a proper examination, actually looking in the mouth, doing necessary tests and looking at radiographs. I would only be able to speculate based on the radiograph, and your history. I would love to help but legally cannot. I am sorry.
