My old man was a cop for 21 years and would be turning in his grave at the state of the force today. It's no longer tenz let droit, it's tenz le facilis. I've had many interactions with coppers and over the last few years they have pretty much all been highly negative, to the point of having a female copper have her hand on her firearm as I was administering first aid to a motorcycle crash victim, she told me to "fuck off and mind your own business" and I replied that I needed to maintain pressure on a gaping wound bleeding profusely. She then dropped her hand to her firearm and told me she wouldn't ask me again.. I'm a mid 50s highly trained professional. Never again will I defend a copper.

I know somebody personally who got a very senior role in VicPol. The first short list was all men. This was deemed unacceptable. The revised shortlist was all women. The woman I know was the best of the second shortlist and got the job. She still thinks she got the job on her merit regardless of her gender. Well suited to the position by that standard.
In New Zealand especially in Auckland 25 years ago Police were selected on being the best candidates and once being in the force the goal was to solve crime. Now Police are selected on Diversity, Equity and Inclusion and very little crime is prosecuted in Auckland now. The most important thing for Police management is that the officers are good advocates for the LGBTQP community.
Same thing with fire fighters. They are jumping over themselves to make gender quotas. I’ve even seen the paperwork from their progress and target reports. It’s sickening. There are plenty of women who thrive in these roles but then there are others who get the magic carpet ride all the way through. If you are selecting on any other basis than merit and suitability alone then you are only ever going downhill.

Avi you're wrong, there is no separation of powers. The Police are the executive arm and are under direct control of the Government , they are not separate from Government. The judiciary are separate from Government and the legislature and executive are fused. Westminster Parliamentary system.
All of what he has said should documented in an affidavit & tabled in parliament.
