I really do appreciate how much emphasis is put on actually hearing the bass guitar in the mix with Japanese rock and metal music. American production companies could learn a thing about that, especially in the mainstream. Lol.
I feel like you tend to hear much more active bass parts with more bass solos as well. Along with greater usage of 5 string basses. As a bassist myself I'm really impressed... and feel put on notice. The technical ability to pull off these bass parts is quite high. Japanese bands aren't just shoving the bass to the background to follow the roots.

I loved Trident's sound from the first time I heard them, which I think was "Voltage" - I like and admire their music more and more every time I listen. In fact, I had to re-start this video to add this comment - but I think I'll let it play thru, with 4 more minutes to go. It would be a crime to stop it now!
