DJ, Sounds Awesome!! The Great Bowie ! RIP ,. Bout in 87 seen him on his 🕷️ Spider Tour Concert it was Awesome!!! I'm 69 still Rock n Roll!!! Till Death!!!
High school dances!! ❤️ Rest in heaven, sweet David Bowie. Thank you for your amazing music you left to soothe us during these difficult times. God bless you all 🙏💜💜❤️
Check out my latest playlist: Extended Version Extravaganza (71 videos) Lots of great dance tunes from the late 70s and the 80s. 🌛🌜🌝 The moon songs playlist is messed up, I'm still working on it.
This iconic brilliant track I have the original 12 inch vinyl version and it's just awesome from the great Mr David Bowie one of my favourite solo British artist this mega world wide hit from 1983 was produced by chic guru Nile Rodgers in Switzerland !!! David asked him to help him jazz the song up and the rest is history it brought Bowie back into the big time after a number of difficult years with personal problems this was no 1 in the UK charts for 5 weeks and USA also !!! Remember then music lovers no net Mobile phones laptops satellite TV so it was very hard to at times to get hit records into main stream charts !!! Bowie is a legend music royalty !!!
I remember when this was released and started getting radio play, it struck me that it was such a fun fusion of rock and roll with big band style. It was unique, and is still a fun sound.
It seems like yesterday, I was watching the Top 100 Billboard Magazine, it was the NUMBER ONE !!!! 1983. GREAT DAVID JONES, ETERNAL BOWIE!!! As an Elton John's fan I can say it very clear!!!
Sweet!! I rember walking to grandview heights swimming pool. With my boom box on my shoulder blasting this song!! And my lil sister tagging along..love you sis! ( harmony gene hoffman)
I saw Stevie Ray Vaughn's last show at Alpine Valley. I was at UW at the time and had stayed in Madison for the summer. A bunch of us piled into my then-bf's Honda Civic and went. It was an amazing concert. Man. I couldn't listen to this song for a while after Vaughn passed. Thanks for doing such a great job with this, DJDiscoCat. RIP Stevie, RIP David (and though it's not him on this track, RIP Tony Thompson, who did play other tracks on the Let's Dance album).
Filmed in an outback pub in Australia the locals that day must have thought god had arrived that day in the Carinda pub in NSW AUSTRALIA that day in 83.
Dude, you are a master of tickling out those attenuated basslines and setting them back into the mix in a way that sounds natural. Amazing rearrangement on this one as well. Just serious moonlight!
DiscoCat, this track's remix is luxurious, gorgeous, delicious! I am especially grateful to you for unearthing the solo by Stevie Ray Vaughan, it sounds more and better in your mix whereas in the original track it's buried and, I sense, clipped. You also magnificently revealed the percussion's sound, the horns, oh my. Total delight, period!

Really, thx. We remembered ex-days:)) What a gr8t years! l was child but remembered like a teenagers:))🤣👍🤣👍in those years: wanna dance like teenagers. Those are my upper group. Wanna speedly grow, in the those years. Now, thinking; How dumb am I? I had a wish and the years passed very quickly. I regret it right now. Now, I want the years not to pass quickly. l only want if those years would come back!
After 'Fame', and the excesses that almost killed him, Bowie went to Berlin and made the three albums that saved him and his career - Low, Heroes and Lodger - and everything that followed would not have happened if he didn't do this. His Berlin albums are my favorites, as it shows him taking chances and stripping away everything that came before.
Great job as always. I never realized "Cat People' was the "B" side of "Let's Dance" I always loved this rendition of Cat People (Stevie Ray Vaughn on guitar) as the version in the movie is much different.
These songs are the greatest. I'm glad I got to witness the 80's, because they were the last of the great song writers. Everything after that decade was sampling and remixes. "Under the moonlight, the serious moonlight."
