That was me when DGD lost to polyphia. Like polyphia is great, but DGD holds a special place in my heart for being one of two bands that got me into metal. (The other being INK.)
I think he did the exact opposite of doing them dirty. He simply loves Breaking Benjamin, but admitted that Linkin Park is the OG for the most part. Tough decision, like he said, he lost either way :D

Started as a cover band? 1999 was when Trivium started and realised they're first album in 2003. While Matt was in school and of course everybody does they're first shows with cover songs but never a cover band
It's tough, but Trivium managed to get off that "music for edgy teenagers" label better than A7X. Dont get me wrong, I like them both, but Trivium just show more maturity

Yeah, that's kind of a System of a Downer. Though for what SOAD was, I feel like their music really touched the world. Other than Rage Against the Machine, no band has gotten that much notoriety for being so against the systems in their message.
this video came out when i first started listening to metal and over time i keep going back and seeing which bands i know now. a year ago you could’ve told me the name killswitch engage and i would have no clue but now i recognize most of these names and listen to most of these bands. this video is my benchmark as a metal head you could say. thank you jared for the great content.
