    I love it!! 😍😍 I am very impressed by how you use a regular journal to do your art❤ I just wonder if you prep your pages and if the paper doesn't break when you use wet media like you did. That is amazing 🤩

      Each of her classes begin with a section about supplies, and she addresses the prep there. I think this has been my greatest takeaway from any of her classes. It really opened up my sense of freedom when creating, because I’m someone who often feels anxiety over using “nice” journals and facing blank white pages. Composition notebooks have completely solved that for me. In my experience, the paper does wrinkle with wet media but doesn’t tear/disintegrate as long as you limit the amount of water you use and don’t work on one spot too long. I tend to shy away from watercolor in my notebooks, but it looks great when Alisa does it!

      @@mymindness that's my problem too! The "nice, sometimes pricey" journals, I am always afraid of "ruining" them. I love this idea, creativity without stress 👌 You mentioned classes?

      @@nataliaferreyra8047 Yup, click the link in the video description and it will take you to her Homebody Journal online class. There are tons of others on her site as well. I haven’t done the homebody journal one specifically but I am sure it is great. Alisa’s classes are relatively affordable and especially good for beginners; I have recommended them to people I know more than once when they express an interest in trying their hand at art.

      I have a handful of videos here on my channel where I talk about prep for a cheap journal or paper - this one is the most comprehensive- ruclips.net/video/NJuRoKw9tws/видео.htmlsi=E4EzhuGMwanTewZf I actually love using all kinds of paper and different journals, I enjoy showing that you don't need expensive supplies to get creative! I find that I am less "precious" when I am just having fun in a cheap journal!

    I love these drawings!!! What are the best white pens that you use? Looking to buy some and don’t want to buy something that will not look good on paper 😀

    Just found you. Truly love your content and style!💙 Thank you for the inspiration throughout. I'm quite fascinated that you are painting these lovely pieces on thin lined journal paper. Just wondering why you don't use a watercolor journal or even a Sketchbook journal with yummy paper to play with? Sending big hugs from Hawaii.🤗💚🌺🌈🙋‍♀️

    why can't it just be quiet? as soon as the talking stops, why can't there just be quiet to watch the artist? The music is always so much louder and annoying than the speaking..and muting and turning up and muting again is just....annoying. I love, love, love your work and I subscribe and watch your videos..that part is just so good. I am probably the only one who finds music (that I didn't choose) irritating.

    • @alisakburke
      @alisakburke  5 месяцев назад +6

      I am sorry you feel this way. Music is part of the way I express myself in videos and a way that I enjoy creating tutorials and videos that only have the art process without talking. I know a lot of people enjoy watching the art process with music in the background and I try to choose calm music. You can always mute if you like.

      Yes, I was just going to say turn the sound off on your side. If you don’t want to hear the music focus on what you can control!
