This fight was so different from everything that came before it, that I came to a spiritual realization that suffering is universal and the best we can do is learn to accept it.
In case anyone else is here from trying to S rank this: in the last few phases, you can deplete her health before the spinning laser phases by shooting her at point-blank. Alternatively, if you do that while always moving away from her, she will always attack only once, making that part of the fight much easier. I don't know what they were thinking, the hit requirement for this fight is the strictest in the game by far. Even the very same fight in Furier mode is easier.
Awesome job man. I'm no slouch at the game myself and have S ranked all the bosses, but to no damage The Burst is a feat on another level. Huge respect for you.
It's mainly about rythm (and not having your thumb slipping off the stick). Once you can predict when and where and the waves are going to be, especially the ones from the side, you can KINDA move around all the bullshit. Knowing the cooldown for the dash to keep dashing away as fast as possible during clutch moments is also a huge help. I won't lie, that took me some time to get through though.
@@pab3188thumb slipping is a serious problem in this game. The fights are so intense you're bound to either get nervous or grip the controller tightly and get sweaty hands, whether pro who's trying for s rank or a noob who's gotten the furthest they've ever gotten everyone deals w it. Even if you're not the type to get anxious at all still the fact that you're constantly needing to move directions without ever lifting your thumb off to recenter. It's rough man
Beating some of these bosses in this game gave me the biggest feeling of satisfaction. Not even beating some of the more difficult bosses in the dark souls series made me feel as good as beating the burst
Alexander Barraza that’s becuase bosses in dark souls are massive making them seem like impossible gods, whereas you and the bosses in this game are on a level playing feel which makes it more intense and satisfying
Now this boss is my favorite, hands down. It’s interesting seeing how other people 0-hit the same bosses, there’s almost always something to learn. I wouldn’t have used the methods you used, but you got the same end goal, so all the more power to you.
Quick and short dodges are more useful since there are many things to dodge in rapid succession and nothing is huge enough to deserve a charge. The charged dodge leaves you with less "control" of your character. Learn how to quickly chain your dodges and master the rythm of this phase. If you can feel when the energy waves are coming (front and sides), it'll be easier to know how to move around them.
i beat all the bosses before her on my 1st try on furi mode but then this one got my ass handed to me. called it a day and after dying 20 more times in the final phase i made it , then the other bosses kill me like 3 times the other samurai dude , and 2 times the final boss of the game. Basically the hardest to do was this sniper girl.
HOW?! Sigh that was amazing. This is the first boss that im having trouble with. Her final is the only hard part... I dunno how you perfected it. Ryhtm you said... Ill keep that in mind
Apparently they are delayed sometimes, I don't really know why. There would have been walls like 1 or 2 seconds later though if I didn't finish her in time.
Actually, I don't really know. My guts say it's around 100h but it might be much more. And since I love that type of gameplay, it helps a lot at "getting good". I really have to go back to that game someday, I miss it.
Just How? :) Awesome gameplay though! Just beat her myself using keyboard and mouse. To go through last phase I had to rebind some keys just to be able to dodge properly. Mad boss but sure she's a lot of fun!
Amazing ! GG ! I don't know how you can parry so quickly after she blocks your attack (1:29). When I do it, I'm stun and can't parry at all (and get hit)... :/ And in close combat, I cant' hit her, she always dodges my attack.... Need more practice, I suppose. Any advice ? :T
For the parry, it depends on when she blocks your attack. If you're too slow to engage her fast enough when she blocks, I guess you won't have time to parry. Acting fast is always rewarded in this game. For your dodging problem, you have to block her full combo before attacking her. Most of the time, you have to block 3 hits but during the last 3 phases it can be 2, 3 or 4 hits. You have to read her movements and don't take risks if you don't have to. For now, just parry 3 times and hit her just behind the third parry, you'll be able to do a 3 hit combo (at least). Keep trying and improve, that's the motto of the game. Good luck !
Wow...I just rage quite that boss she makes you chase her around forever takes to long to get back when you die! You should stop by my twitch www.twitch.tv/nodakkian and give me some pointers some time lol
Hey ! For the burst, you should wait for her to shoot before going near her or she'll flee. So hide behind one of the wall where she is, wait for her attack, then go and hit her. And when I said "the hardest one" I was talking about the Furi difficulty. The Line on Furier nearly drove me insane because of how bullshit it was to do that way. Good luck !

Years after its release, this game still holds a special place in my heart :)
Dude, awesome job. I will never be able to understand how to navigate that final bullet hell section.

Song:
_You're Mine_ by Carpenter Brut.
sigh i feel like the final phase of the burst will be less tilting if we can skip the first 4 phase.
btw you did a great job mate. any suggestion on how to get through the final phase? is charging the dodge useful here?

I don't know why I was so keen on beating the game, but I kept trying until I finally did. This game is impressive! 👌
I like this soundtrack , i like brut
The last phase is so hard. I struggle with just staying alive. Do you know how many hits you can take before voiding the S rank?
I don't know how many exactly, but i think it's between 10 and 15 hits. Possibly more.
Good luck, keep trying !
Finally got it with 15 hits. Got A rank with 25 so I guess it's between 15 and 20.

I love how the music slows as her health depletes

YOU CAN BLOCK THE PURPLE ONES???
Yes, but don't let distract you from the fact that bro had vsync on
I loved it! You're amazing playing this game

No damage ok, but going further on her in the limit of bullet snip is damn impressive
Holy fuck dude, you're incredible
i can't even DEFEAT her, on furi mode
hyper light drifter and hotline miami had a son
awesome dude. Also this helped me beat her. Thanks!
I have never heard of let alone played this game. This looks like it takes an astronomical amount of skill to do with no damage.
This was my favorite boss fight in the entire game. Only died once but lowkey wanted to die again just to play it over again
About first faze, she's running when I come !!!
Crazy skills
What an excellent game Furi is
I'm gonna need to practice The Burst some more, to get this good. She was the boss I had the most trouble with.
Tonts really on Furi mode I cleared her first try
around 2:50 you can get a pretty nice AI break
Gratz mate, that was a sick fight.
Does Japanese Rider have voicework done?
never heard him grunt before.
You can PARRY THE ORBS?
shouldn't there be walls during her attack at 5:00?
Apparently they are delayed sometimes, I don't really know why. There would have been walls like 1 or 2 seconds later though if I didn't finish her in time.
Amazing dude.. I am stuck at the last fase.;)
music is just good
God, I wish I was good enough at video games to play this jfc
dat skill .... how many time took you to play this game like these?
Actually, I don't really know. My guts say it's around 100h but it might be much more.

man my fps drops to 20 in her last phase. the struggle is real

Nope it’s a grunt noise on the Japanese Language Version.
