We are way overtaxed in Canada. Half of most people pays are taxed. Sale-School-House-income tax to name a few. Someone making 50K a year actually has only 25k net, the rest is taxes.

Honestly, I'm surprised there hasn't been a protest specifically against the use of the emergency measures act yet. The act itself did not appear to have its requirements for its use met and beyond that, even the precedent set by this government (nevermind past ones) would suggest that it was wholly inappropriate.
