I bought the same bike and it was supposed to be delivered today but no dice. Now tomorrow. Hoping choosing a large was the right decision. I'm 5'9. Super pumped!
I really am considering this bike, but concerned about how well it climbs. I’ve read a lot on reddit saying it does not climb well. How do you think it climbs? How well does it compare to riding a hardtail?
It climbs better than my Marlin 7. No complaints on my end at all. This is also in the low setting of the flip chip. Supposedly the high setting let’s you climb even better, but not needed on my end as of now. The rear shock also has a little lever to flip to make it easier to climb (core 4). Not a full lock out but stiffens it up. I haven’t really used used this either, just tested. Only issue for me is that the 175mm crank arms are very long and I have a ton of pedal strikes.
@@DadTechTV depending on the type of trails it might be a good thing to change tires for something with less rolling resistance. I did and in the summer it’s now much more fun on the trails around where I live
Hi have you had any issues with the rear shock ? I recently purchased the same one , it started to leak oil after the first ride , also a squelching sound as it moves through the travel . Thanks
Ordered a Core 2 cause i payed for it myself at 14 lol... Hopefully its good! Got 27.5s and hoping to shred soon, just sold my marlin 6. What do you think of the core 2? Main worry is the drivetrain.
The core 2 is an amazing bike. And respect that you paid for it at 14 by yourself. That’s how I was as a kid, and only got my core 4 because I’m 40 years old. I don’t think you have anything to worry about with it. My buddy has the core 2 also and it rips.
@@DadTechTV I actually bought a marlin 7 to replace my Scott aspect 940. I do like the 1x10. Maybe if I started jumping I'd have a need for a full suspension.
Nice bike! I have a Marlin 7 as well and have been looking at getting a full suspension. I’ve been researching until I can’t anymore. So many options. Jeffsy, Revel Rascal/ rail, Orbea Occum/rallon, meta Tr and so on. It’s overwhelming. The core 4 you have is a great price for getting fox factory suspension.
Not only the fox36 factory fork and float x factory shock, but also the sram x01. This config just suited me best, but may not be the best for everyone. And like you are saying, so many options out there. I'll keep everyone updated on how the bike works out.
Really tough question. Which version of each are you comparing? Then what components do you prefer, shimano vs sram, rockshox vs fox, etc. not sure if it’s still an issue, but is there any stock of them or do you have to/want to wait? I feel like you can’t go wrong with either and it comes down to personal preference.
I read so many posts on the internet that everyone is sizing up and the YT frames run small. So glad I decided not to listen to random internet people and to stick with the L and not the XL. Really loving this bike! A guy I know just bought the izzo also. Hopefully I'll get to check that out soon.

Its a great bike. I like it more each ride after one year...
Awesome to hear. It feels really good the short amount I’ve been on it. Excited to get out on some of the trails. Hopefully this weekend.

I have not had any issues. If ur in the US I heard their support is great, but I haven’t had to use it yet myself.
Can a regular bottle cage fit on that bike?
I think it only fits the fidlock system. You can purchase direct from YT as their thirstmaster 4000.

@@DadTechTV Alright thanks dude! Great video btw.
1st.
Looks great, however not my cup of tea.
Hardtail is my choice.
I won’t be getting rid of the marlin7 as I still want a hard tail, but wanted to get a full suspension to expand on my riding.

6ft tall with a yt izzo large here. Fits like a glove

I don't know why it bothers me so much, but people saying shram instead sram is like nails on a chalkboard.
I think it’s just the way I talk. I do think I’m saying Sram and not shram. I also say bagel very strangely accordingly to everyone else. Lolol.
