Important: The Volca FM Factory patches in the links in the description are provided as is and are solely intended for users / owners of a Volca FM. I have removed the link to the DX7 patches (as I do not want to host "roms"). You can covert these your self using the method demonstrated in the video (the Yamaha ones are not that diffucult to find). Please don't ask me for any patches. The Volca FM factory patches are intended as backup for users as Korg does not provide these. The syx cartridge is created by me by manually transcribing the patches from a spreadsheet into patchbase, I can not gurantee that they are 100% error free. They should be mostly OK but use them your own risk in case you overwrite any data stored in your Volca. You can also retrieve factory patches back through a factory reset, but this will reset everything including sequences you may have stored.
i've had this for about 3 years now but only just found out about this. i knew about doing this with pocket operators but didnt know it was pretty much the same with the volca this changes so much so thankyou for the advice!!
Yes and no. It depends on the Model of Volca FM. With the original model from 2016 you can only transfer from Patchbase into to the Volca FM via midi (only goes one way as the original model had no midi out so you couldn't export patches via midi), with the Volca FM2 from 2021 (that has the 6 voice polyphony) it can go both ways because the newer model has both midi in and out ports. Patchbase only supports Sysex transfers though.
@@dykodesigns I just thinking of buying FM 2 for Sound design and saving my patches on PC, and looking what is the best way to do that. Thank you very much, now I see that it's possible. So there is no loosing any settings after exporting the patches from FM2 to PC through Patch base?
Would you be able/willing to share the individual audio for the Factory DX7 patch banks? I’d like to try and use them in AudioShare on my phone to swap out patches on the fly. Would be super thankful!
I managed to get your stock Volca presets working through Koala sampler by importing the audio, normalizing, copying it to another pad and then mixing them together so I’m sure this would work if you happen to have those :)
Got it to work! Thanks again, I seriously appreciate it! I wish I knew how to code, it seems like it would be very easy and useful to make an app of some sort with all the individual patches in the Volca sync format. Plug it in, hit play, switch a patch.

Is there some pc software that can do this as well
Not that I'm aware of in case of the Volca FM. I think there is a patch transfer program for the Volca Sample though if my memory serves me well.
