Great review. I have the RP3 plus and the Trimui with a 4 pro on the way. Surprisingly, I still like the Trimui including the slightly clunky software. It plays PSP quite well too. It feels great to use and actually has a fairly good screen and speakers. If the Retroids didn't exist I'd be happy with the Trimui - the sticks seem fine to me too.
@@MarkiTechYt Have you tried calibrating them? There's a option for that in "settings". Plus, I've heard that either a firmware or sd card update addressed issues (don't remember which) with the joysticks, if maybe you're using an older version?
Man I love handhelds so much, I really need to get more into emulation! I’m still rocking my PsVita, but sooner or later I will surely buy one of these, thanks for the very detailed informations!
I've got a Trimui and use it for GBA games, so never touch the thumbsticks. Love the form factor and weight so much I actually decided to replace my switch OLED with a Lite!
Im getting the rp4 pro mainly to stream. It's andorid gaming and emulation (which ive been getting better at overtime) is just a perk. I got an ally but that has really become my computer. I can't wait.
We really need a TrimUI that can run PS2/Gamecube games, and HDMI output. I would love to see it on a Smart Pro 2, they got so many things right already
I've had my Trimui for a few weeks now, and absolutely love it. The analog sticks work just fine for me, and I never really need the triggers, so it doesn't bother me that they suck. I don't have much use for Dreamcast, but the PSP games I play work just fine. My only real gripe with this device is that it doesn't play GameCube,...but then I bought it before I realized that I'd rather have GameCube than N64, NDS, or Dreamcast. Hopefully in a few years Trimui will make one that does,...and I can wait, 'cause the Retroid is so damn butt ugly! 😁
@@MarkiTechYt If you only paid $50 for it, you may have just gotten the early version, which I've heard had some issues. Upgrading the firmware should fix the joystick issues.
Go for a retroid pocket 4 or + if u need gamecube emulation. My dimensity 810 oneplus n300 phone i got for 50 usd. plays gamecube flawlessly, and I bought a 20 dollar controller to attach to it.
Dude!!! Your unmistakeably SwitchUp!! Id recognize that voice anywhere! So glad to know that you have an emulation channel! F ya! Steam Deck too! Hcklz ya
So far, with just a few days with Trim UI and I like it for the price! My issue is kust that the firmware update has been a real trick to get loaded on here! Im not used to creating a bootable drive so, thats my main issue. And then its all about unzipping the update, moving the games back over from the original card, idk. I think maybe ive seen an easier way if doing it but.
Fun fact linux is the kernel on both systems. They are both Linux. Although the GNU Linux has probably got a much newer kernel. Some android stuff I still running kernel 4 from years ago
I have a real soft spot for the TrimUI Smart Pro - warts and all!
Can you tell me what this background music is so I can use it for sleep 💤
It's a very soothing melody
“It’s not quite as strokable, but it’s certainly more grippy” is a hell of a sentence, Mark
Hahahah! Never a truer word was spoken! Mark
The name of the BGM? Sounds calming
I've been a fan of switch up for years, I just heard the voice and was like, is this mark? It is!
Have a great day and thanks for the video❤
Thank you mate! Mark
Great video!!! Sometimes comparisons like these are important because the market is so vast.
Can't believe i missed this one! Great review and comparison! 😎
Well, a Ferrari 250 GTO and Mini Austin both have bloody wheels but comparing them is a Fool's errand.

Yeah it's got a definite charm to it. Do you have any issues with the joystick not registering??
@@MarkiTechYt No issues. It works fine.
That's really good to know I might have to send mine for replacement

The trimui is the best device under $70 imo. feels the most premium out of the bunch.
The SwitchUp vibes applied to tech. Great stuff. Subbed 👌
Cheers! Mark

I wonder if the analog sticks have been fixed in the meantime?
Hello, thx for the video !
Is it possible to have the link to buy the little thumb protections that you are presented ? Thx
I've got a Trimui and use it for GBA games, so never touch the thumbsticks. Love the form factor and weight so much I actually decided to replace my switch OLED with a Lite!
Yeah it is a lovely device I might see if I can get another one! Mark
Do you do a switch channel? I recognise your voice.
Yeah. It seems like yhe same voice with Mark from SwitchUp channel
Hey mate yep it's me a Markio!
I knew it. Congrats for a new channel. Love to listen to your voice. Keep it up.
This!!! Knew I recognised the voice. Congrats on the channel, loved your work on SwitchUp. Subscribed 👏🏼 Seeyaaaa

Happy days! Just around 20 more people for the 1k subs!
Really good mate very pleased, new video is finished. Mark

Definitely it will be a game changer
its using PS Vita sticks
I wouldn't mind that if mine actually worked 😂
@@MarkiTechYt picking those sticks was a weird choice 😂
@@AishRiosI Yeah really strange choice, I think they just wanted a really low profile device. Mark

WELCOME haha - Mark
I was expecting a "See yaaaaa!" In the end
Alright Mark, you twisted my arm... I suppose the Switch still counts as "Tech" (!)

I think I'll stick to my switch lite. Those look good though and either choice could be a winner for the one that chooses their fave.
Yeah a hacked switch is the best console hands down
Randomly stumbled on this video & it's like... "I know that voice!"

hehehe oh yeah!
TrimUi Smart Pro does have Wifi, right??!!

Hey I heard you from SwitchUp!!!
Yes
@@MarkiTechYt That's awesome!
Good luck with the channel.
Background music unnecessary..good overall content 😊
Ah ok - doesn't add anything? Maybe I fade it out completely and bring back for the end?
Question? Where can I get the trimiu smart pro for 50 dollars?
Aliexpress flash sales - they're popping up all the time
I think it would have made more sense to compare the Trimui to the RG35XX H.
Nice, do it. I'll watch :D
Hands down RP4 Pro. For $100 more its worth the wait!
Downloading roms is a legal gray zone
TrimUI sticks are kinda like the ones on a Vita
Yeah I think they went for that for sure
amazing channel wow
Я думал trimui какая то дорогая консоль на винде, выглядит премиально
For sure.
Is that... Mark from Switchup? Dayum son!
It is me! Just a fun little hobby channel :D
“You kinda wanna stroke it”

Где взять такие накладки на стики?
They came with another controller I'll keep an eye out for them

I would spend $150 for a all round winner, not to waste $50 for a loser.
La verdad vale 80 dolares no 50 tampoco exajeren
