Hey Mike great informative video. I came here to brush up on commercial pilot privileges after busting my CFI check ride. I failed from not knowing about 119.1 and having a 25 statue mile radius for air tours and parachute jumping operations. I have never heard of this reg in any of my training and it surprised me when I failed of this reg I’ve never heard of. I thought I’d leave this comment Incase other people were unaware of this regulation. It’s hardly mentioned in any videos noting limitations. Great video!
Thanks for the video. Definitely a great puzzle piece to figuring out all the grey area that goes into commercial operations and all the new terminology to know.
Finally, I now get this with confidence! I made a checklist with all the Parts and items you mentioned to have it ready not only for the checkride but also for when operating as a commercial pilot. 👍
You are correct. The scenario doesn’t go too in-depth, but: In his scenario - the construction company is the operator of the aircraft and the company itself is responsible under private carriage and all of the regulations that apply. The construction company would also need an operating certificate to be legal. You as the pilot only have the responsibility of making sure that the construction company is operating legally, you are operating as a commercial pilot and exercising the privileges that your certificate allows you.
Thank you Your pilot privileges will depend upon your condition, and the requirement that are require to acheive the provileges. For example, I want to start my own company I would need to have a flighting certificate, and I need to do advertising. Or if I want to work for a private company I would still need flight certificate, but I don't need to work hard to advertise but I could just earn money transporting the company items.

Excellent! Glad our videos have been a helpful resource for you!
Can I have a copy of your Checklist, please?
I was under the impression that Private Carriage still required you own both plane and pilot. If I'm just a pilot for hire, I'm not a carrier at all.

What certificate would be required ? Seems Like a part 91 operation
Super helpful! Thanks so much!
Thank you

One question not really related to this video but to others. Is the online learning you talk about in your teaching videos glime?
