Years back I was sitting on the back deck of my brothers house, nestled in the woods, when I observed a pair of ravens hunting a flock of smaller birds. Their technique was amazing. One raven was herding the flock by vocalizing, and creating a disturbance, the other one was hiding in the tree branches up ahead, keeping silent. When the flock came near it jumped out and grabbed one! Then they left together with there prize. Amazing how intelligent ravens are.

'Cruel'? You are Anthropomorphising these creatures. They have no concept of 'cruel'. They are just birds, they do what they do.
Birds are really violent, I don't know why people think of them as such peaceful animals.

The same error applies to the Grey Butcherbird mixed in with the shrikes which are also a quite different group of birds. Along with a huge number of other errors.

Why is Nature pardoned for all of its past and present atrocities? Why have humans given "Nature" the full range of whatever pain and suffering "Nature" wishes to inflict upon other life?
Nature is not "cruel" or "savage". Nature does not care about the life it helps to create. "Nature" is no more than a conglomerate of desires, which try to satisfy the needs and goals of the individual life form. Ergo: "Nature" is bullshit!
