Only three actions can save this country..
1. Vote wisely
2. UPSC reforms to address high corruption
3. Bring accountability
Actually, scratch all that and have a judicial system that dispenses justice in less than a year.
When you effectively don't have a legal system - the number of people willing to fight out injustice and govt apathy is negligible. If you know I'll get justice in about a year or so, there's so much more incentive for people to stand up for themselves

These are the Neo Tughlaqs of India.
Not one sector every sector of andhra pradesh got fucked up like hell, becoz of one person ego and hatered towards CBN.
This is not surprising, Its pattern of behaviour by the successive governments in AP to accuse the opposition of corruption and take just like Jagan did in the last term against CBN and he went to jail as well. I am not surprised.
Political cycles are inevitable. People who haven't got freebies in a long time bunch up together to elect leaders like this once a while. I am afraid to say that Congress will be there in power in next 10 years at the center and it will create the same mess. Our development agenda will unfortunately be pushed decades behind.
Regardless of any government. First few months will be a political game with the name of white papers. Telangana also did the same.
What was the finance minister doing when state government is taking loans beyond the norms why is the finance minister not sacked yet for her over sight or is she hand in glove with the then AP state government for kick backs
The Union has already capped the amount of debt a state can take under the Fiscal Responsibility and Budgetary Management (FRBM) Act. Recently, Kerala went to the Supreme Court against this limit because it couldn't pay employee salaries and wanted to take on more debt, which the Center refused since Kerala had already exceeded its limit for the current fiscal year. The Center argued in the Supreme Court that Kerala's financial woes were due to its mismanagement and reckless spending, an assessment even the Court agreed with. The Center also mentioned that allowing Kerala's request would set a precedent for other states. However, after the Supreme Court requested consideration of Kerala's case as special, the Center agreed to let Kerala borrow an additional ₹23,200 crore. However, this amount will be deducted from Kerala's share of the divisible pool in future fiscal years.
@@pkmkb7412 And those limits have been relaxed for the favourite cm Mr Jagan reddy multiple times not a single warning or stoppage of more loans

19:19 It's because of All the infrastructure control systems etc at the Telangana or somewhere in the Telangana State It's all transported, converted, and upgraded to Andhra Pradesh. Vijayawada Now, at the same time, they have installed and upgraded the infrastructure and upgraded all the substations and their transmission lines So it could be their charges also shown in the operations cost But in this particular. the power cuts have been shortened And response time of the Service people I would say it's okay But I want to say that they started unit charge. They have doubled And at the same time, they asked for the back pay which a year or three years ago, we may have been used At that time they got transmission losses or generation costs were high, so they are now charging at the current bill And sometimes they suddenly add falana, dimka no charges Without notifying the customer
Thing is SG will make all the right noises when its matter the least and he knows it very well when to have these kinds of episodes.
He'll never speak about these stupid policies and debunk them whenever they're launched(or in the process). At that time he'll trumpet the democracy phenomenon and common people/farmers winning over autocratic(inclined) govt.
And to maintain the " perception" of being neutral he'll come around with these episodes.
Sir, I would not think that you missed a very very important data point , that may look unnecessary but very germane.
That data point is that AP has divided into telangana and residual AP, and the power assets are disproportionately went to AP. Any comparison of data before 2014 and after, has to factor in this. The data is not seamless. Thanks
You are absolutely correct. That's why majority of the comparison done in the later part of the video is between 2018-19 and 2022-23 (post-bifurcation).. to give a better and accurate picture of the situation.
Please privitise entire power sector.
The entire electricity chain should stop relying on subsidies to stay afloat. Doing so encourages them to become more efficient and competitive, which is better for everyone in the long run. When these companies are profitable, they can reinvest their earnings into upgrading their infrastructure and improving service reliability. Plus, they can channel profits into renewable energy projects like wind, solar, and hydro power, helping to create a cleaner, more sustainable future for us all.
Thanks for making us understand about power sector with this white paper as a conduit...
More coverage and analysis of the state governments across India is welcome and necessary. They need to held to account just like the centre.
Gujarat has no power problems and GEB has been profitable and state is power surplus. These reforms have been working for more than 20 years. But Modi hate of SG prevents him from pointing this out.
None of the issues are not solvable. Gujarat has it solved for more than 20 years.
Bottom line is that power is not free - people have to pay for it
Expecting you to see it on both sides and don't always belive state Govt. White papers blindly...
Because of political biasness they will have..
Would you believe if you see the power bills of common man for the past 5 years?
Very interesting topic! Thank you
Ideally, there should be a uniform way of evaluating the performance of every state Government over a five year period e.g. power sector penetration, state deficit changes, GSDP per capita etc etc
And this should be available easily to the public in an easy to read format so that politicians feel some accountability when starting their terms
Even rich people are stealing power but gov is doing nothing.. need tough sentence
Here perpetrators are not only jagan, even bureaucrats are also involved in this, every official was like 'this is the time to take whatever we want'.
T and D losses in the west is 5-6%.. Given hotter average temperatures in AP, ‘natural’ T&D losses will be higher than 5-6.. So 9.5% is not too bad..
probably 2-3% of theft/leakage is still happening..
Good job AP
WERE You able to get only this insight? Good job AP 😂😂
Jagan destroyed Entire Eco System in Andhra. He was the worst CM ever in India
And the fact that nor the central government nor courts tried to rectify these situations by taking strong actions on the bad governance in AP .... During 2019-2024 is sad reality of our country. Democracy doesn't just mean vote once in 5 years and that elected government is free to do whatever they want.
There has to be checks and proceedures that had to be followed such that public interest and fiscal health of the governments is maintained and protected.
People were protesting, press freedom was lost, government was mis handling funds without any economic discipline and the burden has to be ultimately paid by the tax payers, common people as well as the future generations. THIS IS WRONG. Something, some kind of neutral authority enforcing regulation based on certain qualitative parameters is necessary to keep all these governments in check... Whether it's state government or central government.
It's pathetic to see how a democratic country like India is even allowing such a gross mishandling of power and resources by incompetent, malicious and foolish individuals like Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy.
At least in the past, never there was a governance so badly managed such as the YSRCP government. It's very sad. Every party no matter Left, Right or centre have always managed things at a decent level (although subpar), and all of the governments of different parties were performing more or less similar. But this is something no one has ever seen.
And all these damages incurred in power sector in AP by YSRCP government is done in just last 5 years alone.... Which is more than double to the nrpet cumulative losses incurred by the state in it's entire history..!!
How come, a the power sector in AP which was running on energy surplus in terms of electricity in 2018 came to such a pathetic state of buying power at significantly high prices and yet not able to even operate without borrowing loans or even having unpaid bills/arrears from the state government itself !!!
This is lowest of the low!!
Do you think it’s in the cards for TDM to do anything to correct this?
This is the reality of Revdi politics. Khata khat
It's high time that this great visionary leader concentrate on politics rather than focusing on development only. Because development only never keeps him in power , particularly in a castist society like Andhra.
This is what happens when we v elect thugs.
The reason Discom dues got hiked up was because of CBN who made agreement with Developers by deviating rules like bypassing ERC and floating tender and making agreements at premium price when other states were getting at very lower price
Did not notice the Vijaywada cut in at all!!!
Now there is too much power cuts from past 5 days in APeven we didn't feel much in summer 😢
its the AAP that is responsible.
Actually, there has to be a base rate established in India.
Really happy to see plight of Andhra Pradesh finally being highlighted, once a major flourishing state, post bifurcation has been languishing for ten years.
CBN was utterly failed to provide quality power during his era in 1995 to 2004 n 2014 to 2019, he did not focused on power generation from renewable power generation or any other sources, irrigation projects were completely neglected during his tenure
Graphics ruling with false propaganda
Anything that is free is missed used and abused! Why free at all…nothing comes free. Govt needs to pull off all freebies and provide work for entire cross section of working population and help them work and pay for the services utilised ! We are only growing people to get lazy and drink away with these freebies! And one cannot giveaway money contributed by less than 10% of the people to the rest ! This is the crux of all financial problems in d country
Mumbai city electric supply is under municipal corporation which was largely under Shiv Sena control. Also Mumbai citizens pay on time keeping the power business sustainable and expandable . The quality of power in Mumbai is very stable with minimal fluctuations for decades which was not observed in Delhi till last 10-13 years

Sekhar Gupta I wonder you joined hands with yellow media 🤔 wearing yellow shirt too😂
APTRANSCO actually increased its profit accumulation by about 100%. I wonder how difficult is it for such a "professional" team to read a simple balance sheet. Anything in brackets indicates a minus or a loss. Anything without brackets is positive or profit. So transco didn't really lose money. Because they have very little to do with energy sales. You don't need to be an expert to understand this.
T&D losses primary refers to natural losses due to resistance in lines, less than 100% efficiency of transformers etc... which can be improved by better technology and maintenance. if you want to include theft and dacoity you can but pure transmission and distribution losses are usually very significant.
Hi sir it will be nice if you visit Andra Capital Amaravathi and also cover more episodes on Andra pradesh

Basically, "the give and take of competitive electoral politics". also known as revdi, can fuss up the financial future of voters.
Every district should have 1000 megawatts solar power plant built by private sector and make every district self sufficient in power protection.
points to take:
1. politics and economics don't go well together.
2. when you vote for freebies, you will end up paying several folds more, (for voters, this aspect is very difficult to understand).

At the time of COVID, there might be electricity bill defaulters. Does it may a reason?
How did Covid 19 affect these numbers and how does it relate to numbers across other states ? That would have provided a better measure of performance. Sadly there is no analysis just explanation of the paper, which I guess folks who are interested could have read themselves.
Psycho Jagan made AP as baggers state, he wanted everyone must be depend on him with freebies. But people has given clear mandate to kill him politically which is fair enough for AP to survive as progressive state
Same is the story in Karnataka where the incumbent govt is 100 times more inefficient and probably corrupt too. My electricity bill inflation is 60% after May 2023 and face much more power cuts now. And Rahul Gandhi wants to replcate this damaging economic policy in entire India. Caste and freebies are two things on which Congress has marginally improved their performance and it is a shame on Congress which has gifted India with liberalisation and reforms of 1991.of course now Congress is filled with communists and has destroyed its legacy.
Who validate the Values mentioned in the white paper , do TDP have and substantial data to justify what they said in it, I don’t think they’ve it.
AP power production as on 31st March 2024 is 29.11 GWatt, 7th largest producer. After Gujarat, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, TN, Karnataka, UP. UP state 4 times bigger than AP is very close to AP in power production. Bigger states like West Bengal, MP, Bihar are far below AP in power production. AP started very large Solar power project at Gummidam thanda in Kurnool dist. Only state Rajasthan later started world's largest solar power in the desert area. I do not think high rates for electricity compared to many states. Only for political reasons it is unfair to make publicity on the wrong side project

Like the technical approach of naidu's govt setting up a baseline before they start their work. Now we have something to go back n refer 5 years from now.🙌
If you are discussing numbers in thousands of crores, pls consider sticking to say, 55 thousand crores rather than 55,233 crores for example. No further insights gained by giving the exact number…Same thing for dates, Month and Year of an event is good enough, not much use saying 15 June, 1976….
